Temp Restricted, No character

I just was restricted for making to many games to fast, then when i got my account back my character was gone. vamoosh.. nothing, Any ideas on what's up. will it come back. I go to make another character with the same name and it says my name is still being used. hmmmmm any ideas people.

That is very strange. Not sure why it might have gone, other than it was deleted. Even an expired character doesn't disappear. As for re-creating it, are you sure you are using >exactly< the same name? I once deleted a (dead hardcore) character and tried to recreate it and it said the name was in use. I sweared blind it was the same name, but actually it was one letter different and someone else had that name. Go look in the 'save' folder in your D2 install folder, in there there should be another folder for the realm. For example on my machine it is: 'C:\Games\Diablo II\save\Europe'. In there you will find files for each character and you can check the spelling. If >you< deleted it the files will be gone, but you'd remember doing that right?

Other than that the only thing I can think is someone else deleted it, e.g. maybe a blizzard dude - was the name offensive? Some people get away with offensive names, others get deleted by blizzard.

In any case the best way to find out what happened for sure is to go ask a blizzard tech support rep - they can check the database and it's very quick if they are not busy. I think you need to do this on USAWest realm, but go to the tech support chat channel in any realm and it tells you what to do.
