U'd need 100+ mdr and dr to be effective with out ES, and mdr and dr comes after ES.

A while back I was using DMG reduced by X, and got this up to around 55-60 dmg reduced...worked really well in NM, very rarely did I take any noticeable dmg at all, but, in hell, really needed more...It worked OK in acts 1,2, after act 2 I was really starting to take some serious dmg...ended up dying at lvl 81 to Lord De Seis, ran away instead of just standing there and hammering him, stupid mistake...

They come after ES, but before resistances. MDR is really only useful on an ES sorceress, because otherwise resistances are far more effective at reducing elemental damage. (PDR-based builds are still effective, though)
