Why dusk shroud?

I'm working towards my COH, and just happened to find a very nice superior 4os wyrmhide armor with great defense to put it in. However everyone I talk to keeps insisting not to use it and to put it in a dusk shroud. And not just 1 person, like 6-7 people that I know all insist on dusk shroud, dusk shroud, dusk shroud and i wanna know why. Is there some hidden advantage to a dusk shroud I just dont know about?

Not exactly a hidden advantage, but Dusk Shroud has the lowest strength requirement in terms of elite armors, at 77. It turns out elite armors and some of the heavy requirement exceptional armors are the only ones that can get 4 sockets. Wyrmhide requires 84 strength, yet only has a total of 3 defense minimum and maximum higher than Dusk. The most common armor for CoH is usually a Dusk Shroud. For characters that rely on defense a little more, they choose Archon Plate.

Alive, if it ends up costing you a little bit more to use a dusk, Don't. Just go with the armor you got.

But if its no big deal, get a dusk unsocted and get it socted or offer a amount to get one.

For a WW it won't matter either way, you'll be having a high-ish base str anyways.

As verashi said, Your base armor shouldn't be of importance due to the fact your base strength will be well over that of most Elite "light" armors due to the gear changes a wolf should do during the course of dueling games or even sometimes in PvM.

part of that issue for me is trade value. if i ever want or need to trade it, most people want a DS CoH, so if possible, i'd make it in that to make trading it easier. its not technically any better because everyone is different, but plenty of people like DS CoH's as personal preference. hope that made sense. consider what other people look for, if thats a factor for you.

Ya I use all my armors in dusk shrouds. But I kinda dont get what bassman, and ver are talking about. Since my next werewolf's base str is 54 and thats 2 points less then the one I have now. And ya the resson why is so I can use the name LupusUntiVentis. But they are right about not worring about what armor to use on a werewolf. Just as long as its a light armor. Your good to go. Its all about looks for armor any ways.
