What kind of damage can what expect from Hammers with 3 of the syngeries maxed and its effectiveness in PVM play

ie
20 Battle hammer
20 Conc
20 Blessed Aim
10+ Sacrifice
5 hit zeal Zeal
Enough in holy shield to maintain max block with low dex
1 in res auras.


I was thinking of going a zeal/hammer hybrid, I had a similar one I used last season for Dclone hunting, he basiacly used Hammers most of the time and zeal on bosses. I know the Liberator guide does a similar thing with Charge maxed instead of that last hammer syn. I like zeal better pvm and would avoid smite as it does not leach (without Ltap)


with gear I already have,

I'd hit the 75 fcr bp for switch using Suicide Branch (later wizzy) and Spirit shield
and I'd have gerke's and black for the zeal side.

50dr from Gaze and Shaftstop


I'd use a insight Blessed Aim merc since I know that without maxing zeal or having fant I'd have lower AR. Conc however has similar damage output as Fanat.

Conc at level 20 Damage = 345 %
AR provided by ba Merc = 360%
Fanat at level 20 damage = 373%
AR provided by Fant at level 20= 135%

I'd also get a passive ar boost from maxing ba (hammer syng)
so here on paper things look pretty good

Am I crazy?

I also am considering borrowing my sins Treachory armor for its 45 ias and 60 all res , 15%dr after fade . these with 20 ias on gloves in a quick wep should net me either max zeal speeds or close to it.

Nothing in the game will be immune to a char like this, and IM wont pose the problem that zealers generaly have due to having hammers. If I can pull off 6K-7K hammers I'd be happy as this is all that is needed for solo play pvm mostly IMO

and on Zeal, I'd be going for as much CB as I can. My Goal is to hit Guardian, beat Dclone , Run Keys and organs on this char.

Honestly, why not just build a pure hammerdin with 1 point smite and maybe 1 point fanat. You can always shop for life tap wand, which will provide you the leech you need. After all, zeal won't leech much vs bosses anyways unless they are tapped.

Don't use zeal. Smite will do good dmg with the max HS, and only 1 pt. Zeal without synergies is pretty bad, and needs AR.

zeal has 1 synergy , Sacrifice, which I will have maxed or close to, so zeal will not have any less damage then a pure zealer build. Points in zeal net a piddly amount of AR, which I get more then made up from from my merc and the passive boost from from Maxed BA

Max zeal (20) is 200% ar

I get that same 200% bonus from maxing BA so that = no loss of AR from not maxing zeal

I've already showed that Conc and Fantism are about equal in damage at max level.

are you people saying it wont work from practice? or just because it's not a standard build variation.

I know the zeal part will work approx. equal
it's the hammerside that I have questions on.

I don't want to make yet another hammerdin, Rather I favor the melee builds, I want a Zealer with hammers on switch for the IM, AOE attack and phy immunes.

Ah, well if you are doing it for fun, that's one thing, but you are still going to be weaker then you could :/
Conc is fine for dmg, but you miss out on the IAS, which means you will need a lot of that from gear. And not just 35%, the fanatsism counts as on weapon ias.

You'll get 3.8-4.3 k Hammers with 8-10 to all skills. Notice with that +skill setup you'll have almost the same score if you max Vigor and leave Conc at base. If you manage to get some Combat charms it may be better to bump BA and Vigor instead and have base level Conc and Fana so that you can switch accordingly.

Thanks for the input guys, My friend is donating a Azurewrath to my char , only 37 more levels to go on equiping that. Currently I am using a Headstriker and I have a Ginthers rift in my stash.

Armor: treachory
Tgods belt
Gorerider boots
IK gloves (loh at 63)
Headstriker/Ginthers sword with a Chromatic gothic shield of Amicea
Suicide Branch and Spirit shield

+2 combat skills rare ammy
Cathan ring and Rare 10fcr ring (with other mods)

Hammer damage around 600
zeal about 1K

and plowing through nm easy.

I've maxed conc 1st since it affects both of my attacks
working on maxing BH next
