This is really for my own personal gain. Lately I have been comparing High level bows. I have been thinking of writing a guide for v1.11.

I have been using old data so all of my calculations might be off... so thats why I want to run all this information by you guys and get your thoughts/abuse :D

My character is a bowazon designed on this path:

Cold Arrow: 20
Freezing Arrow: 20
Strafe: 20
Valk: 20

I didnt have an easy way of comparing rune bows vs EU bows so I did them in two seperate catagories. If you like the way this looks and the information I can compare any additional bows.

Exceptional Unique bows:

I added all the damage modifyers (Physical + Elemental) from the bows into MIN/MAX damage. These of course would change depending on the enemy fought. I.E. Immune, reduction, and resist monsters. But to keep the numbers generic they came out like this.

"Hellrack" Colossus Crossbow
Two-Hand Damage: (89-105) To (254-300) (171.5-202.5 Avg)
Required Level: 76
Required Strength: 163
Required Dexterity: 77
+180-230% Enhanced Damage (varies)
100-150% Bonus To Attack Rating (varies)
Adds 63-324 Fire Damage
Adds 63-324 Lightning Damage
Adds 63-324 Cold Damage
+20% Increased Attack Speed
Level 18 Immolation Arrow (150 charges)
Socketed (2)

Hell Rack: Min - Max / 278 - 1272; 10 seconds (21 shots): 5838 - 26712 (IAS +90%) Pro: Uses 3 different forms of elemental damage.

"Windforce" Hydra Bow
Two-Hand Damage: 35 To (241-547)
Required Level: 73
Required Strength: 134
Required Dexterity: 167
+250% Enhanced Damage
+ (3.125 Per Character Level) 3-309 To Maximum Damage
(Based On Character Level)
20% Increased Attack Speed
6-8% Mana Stolen Per Hit (varies)
Heal Stamina Plus 30%
+10 To Strength
+5 To Dexterity
Knockback

Wind Force: Min - Max / 35 - 524; 10 seconds (26 shots): 910 - 13624 (IAS +90%) Pro: Knockback + Mana Leech.

Just to make things practical we will give Windforce an extra 40% damage because it gives a +10 to dexterity and you can save 30 points of str and put that into dexterity as well.

Wind Force: Min - Max / 49 - 734; 10 seconds (26 shots): 1274 - 19084 (IAS +90%) Pro: Knockback + Mana Leech.

Conclusion: My information must be wrong or I am missing something. The information shows Hellrack to be impossibly better. In addition to the great damage you also have two socket slots. You can socket some Ruby Jewels of Fervor to increase damage and weapon speed or throw in -20 requirements to drop the strength. With everyone supporting Windforce so much there must be something I am missing.

Rune Bows:

I added all the damage modifyers (Physical + Elemental) from the bows into MIN/MAX damage. These of course would change depending on the enemy fought. I.E. Immune, reduction, and resist monsters. But to keep the numbers generic they came out like this.

It was hard to add in possibilities for all the enhancements like Poison Nova and Fanatcism so I left them out of the initial review until I or you could come up with a good way to adjust them in.

"Breath Of The Dying" Crusader Bow
Two-Hand Damage: 77 To 324
Required Level: 69
Required Strength: 78
Required Dexterity: 97
Very Fast Attack Speed
50% Chance To Cast Level 20 Poison Nova When You Kill An Enemy
Indestructible
+60% Increased Attack Speed
+415% Enhanced Damage
-25% Target Defense
+53 To Attack Rating
+200% Damage To Undead
+50 To Attack Rating Against Undead
7% Mana Stolen Per Hit
12% Health Stolen Per Hit
Prevent Monster Heal
+30 To All Attributes
+1 Light Radius
Requirements -20%
Socketed [6]

Breath Of The Dying: Min - Max / 77 - 324; 10 seconds (29 shots): 2233 - 9396 (IAS +90%) Pro: Health and Mana Leech, Level 20 Poison Nova often

We will adjust the Crusader Bow Damage just as we did the Windforce for the extact same reasons. You get +30 to Dex along with the bow needing +30 less str. So we will boost its damage by +60%.

Breath Of The Dying: Min - Max / 123 - 518; 10 seconds (29 shots): 3567 - 15022 (IAS +90%) Pro: Health and Mana Leech, Level 20 Poison Nova often

"Faith" Grand Matron Bow
Two-Hand Damage: 62 To 319
Required Level: 65
Required Strength: 108
Required Dexterity: 152
Fast Attack Speed
Level 15 Fanaticism Aura When Equipped
+2 To All Skills
+3 To Bow And Crossbow Skills (Amazon Only)
+344% Enhanced Damage
Ignore Target’s Defense
300% Bonus To Attack Rating
+75% Damage To Undead
+50 To Attack Rating Against Undead
+120 Fire Damage
All Reistances +15
10 Reanimate As: Returned
75% Extra Gold From Monsters
Socketed [4]

Faith: Min - Max / 129 - 448; 10 seconds (25 shots): 3225 - 11200 (IAS +90%) Pro: +Skills, + Resist, Reanimate Monsters on your side, and Fanaticism.

Conclusion: I would have to go with Faith its not far behind on the damage and it gives hard to beat enhancements with its +skills and Fanaticism. Faith is easy the better bet of the two bows and easier to make.

hellrack versus windforce. You are forgetting about off weapon ed. All that elemental damage isn't calculated in by offweapon ed. For a good bowazon, 1000% off weapon ed is not a strange thing. Re run your numbers with this and you should see that windforce beat hellrack.
So actually, that pro that hellrack usses 3 types of damage is a minor on the bow. I would have been better if the were straith normal damage.

for faith versus botd: again ofweapon ed is important. Faith offers more ias and more offweapon ed. In the end, this will again put faith over the top.

The bulk of damage from Hellrack is elemental, meaning most hell critters take only half the damage. You also can't add elemental damage as min max, it doesn't get multiplied by dex bonus etc... although I'm not sure if that's what you meant.

You should really post the math with something like this, I doubt many are eager to do the calculations themselves instead of checking it's right.
