View Full Version : Help with Fury Werewolf and Physical Immunes

Hello,
I've got a Fury Wolf druid at level 83, doing well throughout the game, but in hell mode, the PI's are real problems, as most know for this build.
A couple of questions about how to deal with them. First, just in general, does Eth rune's -25% to target defense only affect enemy defense, or does it also do anything to lower their resistances?
Second, how else to deal with them? I have a Bonehew weapon as primary, very good damage, my backup I've been trying to use is Baranar's Star, but it takes forever to kill them with it.
Does having a wand with charges of amplify damage get rid of physical immunity? Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I would suggest getting a reaper's toll on your merc.

Reaper's toll is probably best (most convienent anyhow), but amp damage charges can break most normal monster physical immunities. The eth rune only lowers defense, does nothing to resistances.
A Reaper toll merc or having a Atma Scarab in inventory to switch on when those PI's start appearing.
The -25 def from "Eth" will lower enemies def. and by that increase your chance of hitting 'em, nothing more...

ik maul has an average of 790 elemental damage with 4 set pieces: boots, gloves, belt, maul.

Yeah but Azure Wrath has about the same average elemental damage, gives the Sanctuary Aura that ignores undead phys immune status (most phys immunes are ghosts), gives +skill, and only takes up one slot.
A reapers toll on your merc definately helps, and an azurewrath or baranars star as a secondary weapon can also help.

not everyone wants to build up to 136 dex. hes already at level 83 so he may be way behind. if he were making a new character, he could possibly plan for 136 dex.

Ive all ways been happy with using amp from atmas. Basicly because I dont use mercs tho.
Also if you all ready use a b-star. Try out using a tiamats rebuke as well. That might fix it. But I kinda dought it as well. Its a old 1.09 trick, and the monsters have been beefed upped since then.

Maybe try a Famine?

Hey, thanks for all the suggestions guys....unfortunately I'm not on ladder, so Azurewrath and Reaper's Toll are not options. However, I've happily found something that does work very well, in my opinion much faster than Baranar's Star...the Hellrack crossbow....the lightning, fire, and cold damage on this is nice, and I got one with two sockets that I had lying around, so I socketed it with Shael runes for faster attack speed...seems to work really well. Thanks for all help though...any other comments about this strategy certainly would be appreciated.

If you are on west NL, I do have a reaper that I am willing to part for some pgems. Hellrack should work, however.

It may be a good idea to check the Zealot weapons for Phys immunes http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=545616 stickied at the paladin Forum. Lots of good choices for weapon switch. Though the throwing options may not work for a Druid, most things that work with Zeal should work with Fury aswell...

No dont I know for a fact that alot of those weapons are too slow for a werewolf all ready.
ya just so you know Noite, zeal and fury are very different skills because of 2 changes in how the skills apply to the game. Fury needs more weapon ias where zeal needs next to none. Also fury is effected by hit recovery. Where zeal isnt.
Would something like a Hellslayer or Frostwind axe do in terms of damage output?
