Gear for pally

I'm making a pally for dclone and the ubers and I was reading the 1-pt smiter guide. You guys mentioned making grief for a weapon, and chains of honor or duress for an armor. I was just wondering if it mattered what kind of 5-socket axe, or body armor you actually want to use. Like if I find a high damage axe (or what is a good damage axe to use). Is there a guide that tells you the best type of armor (what base defense etc) to use? I just don't want to put runes into something and then have it not turn out correctly.

Phase Blade is the best for the purpose of killing Diablo Clone; you'll lose a little bit of damage, but it is minimal and you never have to repair it.

Not to mention a five socketed Phase Blade is a lot cheaper as well.

There isn't really a best type of armor. All it takes to defeat Diablo Clone easily is Life Tap, crushing blow and a good amount of fire and lightning resist. You can spend as little (having the basic requirements, of course) or as much on your Paladin as you want.

There is a guide about Diablo Clone floating around in the Community Forum. It's not stickied, though, so it might not be on the first page.
