a sad thing happened. last year, i lost my nonladder mule accounts because the person i asked to refresh my accounts forgot...just recently i was away from the game for a few months and i didn't get back in time to refresh my remaining accounts so i lost everything.

i did get dacar to hold onto lilith's bane's brimstone flight hydra bow (http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y224/superdave01/Screenshot013.jpg)...it is now sitting on an unfinished non ladder zon.

i just spent the last 10 minutes going through my computer looking for the SS of the cruel rares i collected over the years to no avail....if i run across them i will post but it doesn't look good. :cry:

i planned on posting a trade thread on the east forum in another month of two to see what i can come up with...many zons right now are still using harmonies and rares...in a couple weeks maybe those rares will be sitting on mules, replaced by faiths.

we never did keep a thread going to post screenshots of good bowa/gloves/rings/circlets.

anyone have some screenies of sweet rares? let's see em.

Even a magical Cruel of Alacrity with 2x shael would be totally awesome in my opinion. I prefer Ward Bows myself, just for the looks.

that would be great ! i found some rare bows over couple of years, but none of them were that good to be posted . . . i wish i could find rare elites like that hydra bow dave found . . . and it has sockets ! man :rolleyes:

i always strongly belived that rares are better than uniques, but they have to be found . it drives me crazy knowing that they are out there somewhere . . . imagine you could find a bow with more damage than WF . . . and that makes me ask : which lvl is lilithsbane, if that hydra gives max damage based on character lvl ?

i was given a perfect 15% superior gmb with +3 skills...it had 5 sockets...i made a cta in it and built a zon to use it...the maphackers went nuts when they saw what i was using....you would be surprised at how well a cta bow performs.

after having compared melody to harmony (on a frost maiden) i'm left wanting more from a bow than just +skills. harmony outpreformed melody in every way except for ias. as a starter the +6 bow would be great, no doubt, but i wouldnt go out of my way to use it. i'd think it'd have to be rare and have nice supporting stats.

for the ko, harmony is better. i made both and tested and the +3 skills more doesnt outweigh the vigor, 55-160 cold damage, 200-275% ed or the other elemental damage that harmony adds. there's also 2 mana per kill the added + to valk and revive charges to play with. i've literally tested the two bows side by side, both in +3 mat bows and harmony wins out in every respect except for ias of which there's only 20% on melody so that's easily made up on other gear when using the harmony.

once you get high enough to use ice it's better than either, but harmony once again wins out

there has to be a high percentage of +enhanced dmg%, (over 200% i'd say)
and a fool's mod (+max dmg and +ar based on character lvl), 20 ias, a -req mod is nice too, and maybe some leech. I'm sure others can be more detailled.

ctc amp, certainly a high number of sockets, the more the better. And I think you need more then 200% ed. Harmony comes with more then that. Going from 300 and things start to get interseting.

i noticed one thing with rare bows, they cannot have +max damage as high as windforce . did anyone found a rare with more ?

There is no bow in the game that can have higher max damage than windforce.

Dont forget IAS is almost crucial in a rare unless it has two sockets.

that's a toughie. it's low on ed%, but it has nearly everything else aside from sockets. i'd say no, but wait for other's opinions.

that is the first upgrade, not worth the second because the damage wouldn't work out to be much higher. it generated with the fire and poison, and low lightning, the jewel increases the lightning.

Lol, that was my anti-sorc gear. I wasn't sure what to use and yes, one of my main problems was lack of damage. I did manage to achieve max resists and 105% ias.

seems pretty nifty to me. it could use more ias and/or 2sockets, but hey what couldnt? i'd use it in certain circumstances. although now that i think about it it's a really tough call since harmony can have 275% ed and comes with some good mods otherwise... now that i think about it i'd say take that until you could make a harmony.

i would have bet a couple bucks that this was a dupe (it's that good) but i couldnt find it anywhere, so great, great find you got there. while looking for stats of it (if it was a dupe) i came across a couple of the classic dupes that everyone uses and they're on par, but i think (scratch that, know) that this is better simply for the fact that it's not a dupe. congrats :thumbsup:.

add Skills Fools mod and 2 sockets and I would agree its the best plus the level is surprisingly low on it.

Still not really comparable with the LLD >30 one I posted earlier because of the Req's but nice none the less.

P.S. to CDM - Thanks It's not a Dupe but it is Very Old 1.0x and x<9 I think, I use it to rush just about every Char (non-zon as well) I make as the REQ's are so low I can put it on most at LVL 29 and sit in the back while leveling. And the HC bow you use is WOW!

Well, I guess you won't want it then. Dunno what else to say, besides the fact that I've used one before =/. It was my first "godly" duel bow in 09...it just never got much attention in end-game dueling in d2x because it just doesn't stand out as much as other gear like...those boots that you are probably all familiar with. I can list out a bunch of "godly" rares and you would all probably think they're no good. Rare armors, helms, shields, and weapons from d2c have not gotten much recognition in d2x.

Keep the bow though, it reminds me of the good ole 09 duels...5 years ago o_o

Thx CDM....this thread got me thinking when i first saw it....if I could "create" my own rare bow, what mods would i pick? Rare items have a possible of 6 modifiers, 3 from the prefix and 3 from the suffix. So this is what I've come up with. This is what keeps me mfing and running the bosses late at night. The bow is theoretically possible, but the name is not:

"Faith Killer"
Grand Matron Bow
Two-hand dmg: 108-503
5% chance to cast lvl 1 amp dmg
+2 to bow skills
20% IAS
+530% ED
+20 to min dmg
+50 to max dmg
+250 to AR
socketed (2) .....my theoretical bow has two 40 ed 15 max dmg jewels

this is assuming perfect rolls on the cruel, masters, and + min and max dmg...of course you would never find anything this good, and if you do let me know :yes: it would also probably be smarter to put ed/ias jewels in it, but this was the only way i could get it to hit 500+ max dmg, so it's my holy grail.

edit--i realized today that the above bow is not possible due to the fact that it has 4 suffixes (amp, +min and max, and ias), so you'd have to pick 3 of those 4....still not bad
