I'm going to work on a Bowazon in the midst of leveling all my other toons and I'm trying to find a great PvM build of Bowazon that will be at least successful in solo'ing through Hell difficulty.
I read a couple strategy builds and found them, well, less than enthusiastic about how to build one of these. And I see more Javazons running chaos runs than Bowazons but I do see them on occasion.
I'm hoping you guys could point me into the direction of a really great Bowazon build that is pretty descriptive.
So far the one I am looking at is using Magic Arrow as my main damage... with Penetrate and a super beefed up Valkyrie (20 valk, 20 decoy) as my synergies and help.
Please let me know, thanks in advance.

Ma is one of the worst main skills to sue pvm.I would use Strafe but evne multi works good.

I read Strafe... it looks like a combination of Multi+Guided. Am I reading it wrong?
PVM, especially Chaos / Baal running means Multishot and Strafe are your best skills, with a few points into Freeze to stop packs from over-running you.
Valk doesn't have to be maxed but get her up over level 17 if you want a good strong 'tanky' one.
Bowie won't kill as fast as a good hammerdin, but will certainly clear CS and WSk with decent gear and a bit more time.

Each of the guides in the stickie section create great Amazons. To give you specific directions is very difficult especially if your less than enthusiastic about certain builds. The difficulty is choosing a primary, secondary and elemental/magic attack as you play your bowa. For example Chipmc's Witchy guide mentions Multiarrow as a secondary attack, Strafe primary. Well the strafers are going to nod in agreement while the Multi fans will rightfully point to how great it is under XX conditions. Others will tell you not to max strafe, others will point to their success with a xx into each skill and the points of view continue to vary because its their experience and play style that differs from another's play style. Not many Barbs will only add 10 or so pts into whirlwind and leave it at that, but a strafer can get by with less than 20 pts in their primary attack and 9 pt Multiarrow skill will clear the Chaos Sanct real fast.
If you have not played with strafe or mult arrow its hard for someone to choose it for you.
For hell difficulty you will need some form of crowd control, to me this means using your decoy skill, valkyrie and merc with knockback. Next you need to cover the physical immunes. Freezing arrow, cold arrow, sometimes magic arrow can work. Amplify damage from a Witchy bow or Atma's scarb will do the trick here. Reaper's Toll on your merc will help but remember Decripify does not remove the physical immunity(read the description of the curse if you are not sure what I am referring to). How you choose to integrate these is entirely up to you. The guides will give you great explanations and if followed they work great. You are going to have to try some skills out and see how they work for you. Once you arrive at your final version of your bowa I suspect you will be somewhat biased in skill choices and gear as many of us are all based upon your experience. You can then make a great passionate post on how you rock the world with your Blessed Aim merc and Magic Arrow(read sarcasm here-I actually met a strafer who loves BA merc... /shrug)
Get to playing.

Thank you so much for the directions.
Can you give me an idea of what the difference is between strafe and multi? I mean. I played with multi-shot before so I know what that does. But what exactly is strafe about? It looks like it's a cross between multi and guided without the ability to always hit.
Am I wrong? Sorry to be such a noob, I've never used strafe ever and don't see what the major deal is with it or how it will help.
Maybe your last sentence says it all... get to playing, and learn about it.
Thanks again for your advice.

Strafe is Auto Target liek guided which means it tracks a monster then rapibly shoots arrows out at quick speeds and more will shoot out faster with each level you put into it.It is also a decent skill for bosses.Use multi for big groups and strafe for smaller groups and bosses.
Strafe does not auto-target critters exactly like guided. It does shoot a volley of arrows at different targets. It does auto-target them in that regard, but it will miss if they move. Multi will not auto-target. It's volley moves forward away from the zon like the webbing on a hand held fan. Read the sticky at the top called Multi Vs Strafe for lots more info.

So... could I maybe say that it acts like a druid's fury attack in WW form, or maybe a Paladin's Zeal attack but with range?
As in, it fires off in quick succession a few shots while tracking a mob.
I think I have seen this in PvP games as well as chaos runs. It's almost like a constant stream of arrows comes out.

There's also a Strafe vs. Multishot sticky up there if you have hard time deciding which way to go, or go both.
