Smiters

I have a hybrid zon (followed tienje's guide) that I have been dueling with recently. Almost every game has a smiter that thinks he is so good just because he can perma smite you and win. I switch to my titans/ss and try to run, but they always catch me and chain smite. Any advice on how to beat a smiter?

Hehe. Stay off screen? Use fc on switch? Many things that can stop a smiter. I know nothing about a hybrid zon, and seriously, I am too lazy to look it up. But you can always just shoot guided arrows from 1 screen away like everyone else does to smiters. Or you can just pick of fc'ing and get him with that :)

it will be pretty impossible to stay 1+ screen away from the smiter sadly, since they're so much faster than you are. do quick studder throws, where you take a few steps and then throw 1 lb/lf. when they get very close, use lighting bolt to build up some kb+desync, and then start throwing some lf.

step, throw, step, throw.

keep running in one direction, directly away from the smiter. it'll be a matter of chance, your dodge/block/desync vs his charge, but you should never get hit by smite if you keep moving.

Well you have max FRW correct?Also make sure you have KB on some item you use as well

well, my FRW is not maxed yet, I am working on making a faith bow atm (just need ohm). This is my FRW as of now: 30(helm) + 20(Titans) + 25(Travs) + 20(Cats Eye) + 3(SC). 98 total FRW. Another question I have is about Tienje's video...how come you switched between LF and LB when you were attacking the smiter?

LB is purely elemental, so it hits 100% of the time. LF does more damage, but it is blockable. So, i basically switch to LB when i need the KB, like when the paladin is very close, to LF when he is farther away and can focus on dealing more damage. If you ever duel a zon on a paladin, you'll know that KB from the zon will really screw up your charge, even if you don't see it.

switching between LB and LF is basically just switching between KB and damage.

p.s. you'll need a lot more frw to be able to beat smite/chargers readily. but definitely focus on getting a faith first.
