Hi, i read the one and only summoner guide and i still have many questions. Planning on using to kill uber d and pvm which might be hard but doable. First of all does tele blob work with summoner and is it effective? Second, is pride or infinity better on ur might merc? i ask b/c infinity is better w/ summoner, but wondering if its better for druid summoner as well. Your setup looks really good! I mean, as long as you get max resists and hit the fhr breakpoint...either by Jalal 'shael' or using treks, your good. Hopefully you can get another shape GC too ^.^
Maras isn't really needed, I found I had stacked resists in hell just using a basic +3 Summon/50-100 lifer . Make sure you get all your anyas
Your damage will be plenty fine in PvM without HoW, you'll prolly find yourself using Oak Sage like 90% of the time. There's just no comparison going from ~7-8k health & 18-22k Bear vs. 4k health with 8-9k life bear, its all about survivability:wink3: . Also, make sure you do have shockwave... I'm pretty sure you do but I didn't see it listed.
For a merc... well, I always just used Reapers Toll on my A2 nm combat merc with holyfreeze. Like I said... it's about control and survivability. I didn't need the xtra damage but w/e works ya' know ^.^

Are the wolves that useful? It seems to me the might of a summon druid are in his ravens/grizzly. The wolves always died way too quick for me to keep them as a viable solution.
I could be wrong though, I see people using summon/Hurricane druids in pub duels all the time.

Wolves are useful but against dclone I'm positive a bear would work better.

The truth is, your merc is going to be doing most of the killing. As a result, I'm going to have to say infinity. The conviction aura will lower uber diablo's defense making it easier for him to land a hit and an infinity has 40% cb on top of that. The conc aura on a pride is nice for general PvM by increasing the damage of all your summons as well and the DS it has is useful but for uber d infinity is a far better weapon choice. Slap a guill's face on your merc as well as a duress armor.
In short:
PvM Merc (general gameplay)=ePride, efort, vamp gaze/coa/kiras/andy's/giant skull
PvM Merc (uber diablo)=eInfinity, eDuress, guill's face
Infinity is generally better in almost any situation for a necro summoner because it lets all his minions and the merc himself hit more easily through lowered defenses, it raises the damage his mages do, and greatly raises the amount of damage that 50% of his CE does (50% of CE is fire damage).
However, a summon druid is all physical damage and so infinity is really only beneficial when you need your merc to make successful and lucrative hits (on bosses).

Obedience > Infinity.
And Wolves are used in large areas. It's kinda hard hiding behind a Bear when monsters are coming from all sides.

First off... I have no idea why were talkin' bout D Clone.
Bosses, yeah your merc might do more damage... but in general play, there's no way in hell he can compete with grizzly ;)
Of course, since he's a shockbear, even using a 2xBear caddy with lvl 20 Maul and dracs could pwn an uber and just tank with your Bear and merc, but I'm just talkin' general play... I think just a simple Reapers Toll gets overlooked. The decrepify is hella good control combined with shockwave, and when your Bear's doing 6.5-7k damage it makes short work of almost any Hell minion or Boss from my experience at least ^.^
@Rashi
my experience... with wolves... there's more of them and yeah they cover more ground, but they just kill too damn slow. The point is, if your constantly fast teleporting with a superimposed lvl 48 grizzly and oak taking most of the hits and 1-2 hit killing most minions, and if you tele into a crowd just quickly shift into shockwave, your pretty closed to invincible I'm not gonna lie. It's power and mobility, either your constantly teleporting and hence safe behind your bear... or your not teleporting and in Bear/shockwave form... either way with enough life/resists you almost can't die, or it's very hard I should say ><

Yeah, but I play Hunters, noob :P. Wolves are more tactical there.
LOL hey yeah, that'd be great if this thread had anything to do with hunters nubbin' mc nubski.
JARY> Obedience> infinity> Rashi

Not that I'm aware of. It's just a Summoner with a bow though. Gear changes become more AR centered than +skill centered.
