Diablo 2 ERROR

I get this error

When starting a singleplayer game, ive tested everything like upgrading drivers and i've reinstalled 5 times. And copied the mpq files and everything. It worked fine on my old computer, and it works on my buddy's computer. But not on my new..

Here's the specs:
CPU: Amd athlon x2 1.9ghz dual-core
GPU: ati radeon 9550
mobo: asrock nf3-250

Old computer:
CPU: intel pentium 3, 800mhz
GPU: ati radeon 9550
mobo: dont know

Try checking on software compatability. Sounds weird, but my game used to crash everytime I moved between acts. After exhaustive searches on what could be wrong I found a little info on Microsoft Office conflicting with diablo. I downloaded a patch for office and bickety bam it worked like a breeze.

What OS are you using? Also, have you installed the latest patch? I ask because you're playing single player, and may not have been forced to install it before. Patching fixes a bunch of issues. Try running the D2 video test utility, and see if adjusting the video settings there fixes your problem.

Your machine looks more than adequate (when I first got D2, I had a Pentium 2 266 with either 32 or 64 MB RAM. It worked for me.).
