Copy paste bug still present

If you're doing baal runs and you copy paste the game name - pasting it the first time - it seems like you have 25% chance of the game getting a fatal error. This bug has been around since like 1.0000. Anyone else get this?

yeah happens often, what I do to avoid this is copy paste it ie

baal runs-07 and after pasting it, I delete and retype the last digit, this seems to keep it from that funky error

That's strange; I've never had that problem at all.

I have this same problem. The only workaround I've tried, which so far has been 100% successful, is to never click "Join" when the game name is highlighted. Just left-click once in the Game Name box to the right of the text to remove the highlighting, then click "Join".

I've not done extensive testing, but it seems to work...

interesting. Will have to keep that in mind. Something I noticed on my computer (perhaps its just my computer) but I noticed a pattern. When i copy something in diablo 2 - If my computer doesnt crash when I join the copy pasted game - my process light stays non blinking. However EVERY time the game crashes - a very quick burst from my processor light shows up. Wondering if anyone else has noticed this.

Edit: the light shows up RIGHT after i hit the ctrl + c

It seems to have a high likelihood of crashing if you copy a game name more than once within the Join Game screen.

My workaround is not to copy from within D2... I'll type the game name in notepad and copy it from there. So far I've had no crashes when using this method.

I thought I was the only person having this problem. I've had it since D2:Expansion was released, but I quit for a few years and I just started playing again (now on a new computer). I don't get crashes as often anymore but still get it from time to time.

What I do is this:
copy the game name (minus the last number, it's the one that's gonna change anyways), paste it, and add the right number.

mmm.. i tought it was just that you cant create games too fast.

exit the last one copy paste the game and wait a sec or 2.. atleast it works for me :rolleyes:
