Or alternatively, just go back to act 1 and hire another one - an option often overlooked.
At this stage it is just about still feasible as we are at the start of NM and could just wait until quest 2 act 1 but the few points of dex and life (there is a thread in these forums about levelling mercs and the benefits as opposed to re-hiring if anyone wants referencing) you get extra from levelling a normal difficulty merc is worth it imho...doesn't take much to lvl her!
Just remember to take the items from her, or they will be lost in the change.

ps - on another matter entirely, do you still need that 4 sox polearm (not for KTA) ? I have one stashed if you do.
Thx very much for remembering dude...i managed to blag a bec-de-corbin and rolled a 17 alvl Insight on first roll for my CL/FO sorc so i has happy as flies on pig-poo (i've gone from no-to-endless mana in 60 secs!) but i would be happy to take it off your hands for my necro to endlessly CE his way through the game! What kind of polearm is it?

Tika idea is certainly sound in principle - when are we sorting the merc?
Nightmare Act 2?
The other thing is by moving Insight to me there are positives and negatives.
The good - high level mana recovery - triple healing (with cleansing)
The bad - Lose +2 skills (sword and shield) - no blocking, only undead killer.
Hopefully my barbarian can tank for the team. I am happy to hold insight triple healing will be a big bonus - my aura's can help too and I'll kill any undead hopefully in 1 hit. I'll stick with prayer dude till everyone is certain of the plan.
Is Fanaticism a big help? It could become my big support aura if needed
i think it would be hugely powerfull if you decide to wield the insight.
and just for funs... if you wanna deal some damage so a single target or something... stick 1 point in charge... and with some +skills, fanatism on, might from a merc and a big 2 hander that insight always is you can deliver quite a big blow. hitting things shouldnt be hard as conviction and blessed aim will handle that part well.
i dont think we will need your tripple healing very often btw... just a single healing from insight will be plenty moost of the time... (that is already over 30 every 2 sec) and leaves your hands free for fana or resists. and i dont think we should have a healing merc... you will heal all we need... but the prayer aura will take away 1 aura slot (while not being as powerfull as your healing by far anyways).
IF we need extra healing you can always turn on cleansing for double healing.. but the extra prayer merc would actualy only make it 2,4 or 2,5 times healing since the merc is less effective.
well.. lets discuss this in game coming monday... as soon as we have toasted Andariel.

I got an email from Ompie saying he has Soul Harvest up for grabs for a merc if needed and i will be x-ferring runes for Spirit and Insight to the Gem Mule tonight (as he gave me his acc details while he is gone) so if we do find a decent polearm or Spirit weapon (4 sok Broadsword ftw!) we can make use of it straight away...

accoording to our last play (past monday) there are no spaces left, as we were with a full party. HOWEVER... i DO know that at least 1 person cant make it comming monday, and at least 1 cant make it the monday after. i suppose that moost of the time there will be someone who cant make it, so an extra player should (almoost) always be able to play.
did you already have some kind of character present in this KTA run?
if so he/she needs lvling i guess, if not... he/she needs more lvling :grin:
please read this entire thread, as it will make you up to date with what we did, what chars are present and so on.

For giggles I tried river of flame myself - I slaughted undead and as long as I was not jumped I did ok. I found a nice barb hat - 10% FHR some good fire resist and +2 warcry and +1 to something else together with other stats.
Picked up a few runes too (Eth, Ith, El) - did OK by myself!
He's now ready for cow level on Monday!! Praying for a 4os Polearm for myself!

Yeah I tried CS and to be honest holy bolt just owns at the minute. Put together with cleansing and my Barb survived very well - even surrounded he still managed to kick some ***. Its mana cost compared to FOH have it as a winner, but FOH will certainly help in say Act 2 Nm.
The only problem was on the River of flame surrounded by urders was a pain - crushing blow and stun lock nasty!
Hopefully get 1 point into vigor and charge soon, Fanatacism may be my main "attack" aura for the team. The defensive aura's will most likely be Salvation, Cleansing - and obviously Mediation from Insight! ;-)
Hopefully with +skills I can get the other "1 point pre-reqs" up to a decent level.
Max Conviction & Fanatacism with +30 heal every 2 seconds, LOTS of mana recovery, then for the gravy we have Might, Blessed aim and Defiance.......
Not bad for the team and thats just auras!! We have Curse & CE support (with gumby), Team Arrow, Miss T Storm, Various Barb skills, and a few fellas for the meet and greet! Big Cuddly Bear Inc

looks like real life is interfering with gaming fun again.
This coming Monday is parents evening at school and if I'm lucky I'll just be late. Best to plam on me being absent, just to be safe.
However, looking at the schedules for the week after, it looks as if I can make it after all. Maybe even on time, but that depends on many external factors, such as flight delays and traffic etc.

@Auras: Damn that's alot of discussing, and I didn't know about the 6 aura cap (haven't encountered it before) ++ Knowledge! I can take the might merc as most of you have pointed at, my act 1 rogue is way behind too so no problem for me :) Other than that i think you guys should decide on the auras, I'm lost in the conversation :D
Also, I'm never sure if I can make it or not, there's alot of partying going on atm since I just started uni, I don't know if there's any activity planned for monday evening.

Iīll be there this evening and Iīm not picky about my merc, so choose one for me, otherwise, Iīll just keep my defiance one, as Shout + Defiance both keep the def up. Where is it said, that you can only run 6 auras? Confirmed by RTB or Orphan or someone else I trust?

Anyone can join KTA, if i were you i'd read this whole thread and maybe search for some old KTA threads (about 6 pages back in the Hardcore forum) to get an idea of what this is all about...one thing i will mention now is that i noticed you are from L.A. so time might be an issue for you...in the old KTA thread i posted a Time & Date link for differences around the world if that will help! :thumbsup:

As you are all clamoring for details i shall give them, we didn't do an awful lot tbh, we made the first game, did a baalrun, cowrun and a mix of meph, trav and frigid highland super-uniques in them...that was it...rinse and repeat...no good item drops and a smidge of experience buuut...i am happy however as i got super-kitted out with a Rogues Bow (Tika got in cows), a +2 skills and flee mod Reflex Bow from Baal along with a Darkglow (which i am temp using as i can't have a shield for res but if it's better served on a melee char they are welcome to it) and a Civerb's amulet (40% mana regen) but the best item had to come from zrk...a perfect Manald Heal! With Rogues Bow pinging so fast i can leech (and with +20% =60% regen!) real well and when the party gets Medz back i will be able to FA all day!!

Indeed, with the gear shuffle (and a LOT of mana pots) we did alright though...especially when Tika got a point in Static Field as our first Baal attempt was hella slow without it!

As said before, we didnīt do much and the lack of mana forced me to hork for pots instead of items. My highlight of the evening was the 3 soc large Shield that I socketed with Ancient Pledge. On normal all my res are maxed now and with almost 2k life ( after BO ) I definatly feel ready for nm next week. We have 12 jewels now if I remeber right, most of them being really crappy, only one with 27% fres and 5 str being slightly appealing. Levelwise Iīm 42 or 43 ( donīt remember excatly ). Hopefully we get more action and players next week.

was fun yesterday... even dough i was not feeling well at all. this morning i was stil feeling miserable, but now things are going the right way... slowly.
we actualy did NOT start NM at all... even the den is open for next week. we did lvl a bit with some baals and cows things however. i think moost are between 44 and 42 now, with 1 or 2 lagging behind a bit. i would say all should lvl somewhat till they are in the lvl 43ish region, so we can realy start NM next week.
as for items... we got off to a REAL slow start there... with the first 2 baals dropping nothing but blues. later on however things were getting better (a bit at least)... not that they could get any worse.. :rolleyes:
we found some OKish charms, the aforementioned bows, some pairs of rare boots an +1 to shapeshifting druid amulet and some minor things as well. Best find as far as i am concerned was a ring... a 90 mana + 15 energy ring that is, which i am using atm.
as soon as i had that 1 i could fire away with chain lightning... and even we werent slow in killing before that (cows already died with entire packs together)... after that is was realy a big mess.

Right I gained a level and a bit. I picked up some more runes - now have Thul, Eth, Ith, Nef, El and I found a nice weapon for our sorc +1 Thunder storm, +2 CL +30 mana and some MDR. Got a few gems too.

Yeah I got 2 bits of one set - helm and Armour. The armour is green in colour and for the life of me I cannot remember the set name. The set has 5 bits.
UPDATE - I'll get it now from the web - its Cathan's Traps set
I have been playing with my runeword wizard here (at work!) and since i picked up a very nice sword with 3 sockets to play with I'm considering putting in a runeword. Obviously I have malice all ready to go, and as a group I could swing King's Grace but a part of me is thinking of waiting for maybe cresent moon........all (we) need is an Um rune and it would be a great fit for my merc. I could then give the unique he is using to someones barb merc.
P.S - I'm assuming we have a shael
P.P.S - Lawbringer was a bit of a stretch - we have the Amn but unlikely to get Ko and Lem soon!!
I may just go with Malice so someone's merc can use this decent unique sword
Cathans set...the res bonus isn't bad and you can get a decent thwhack with the stick as an early Fire Sorc if you don't have a full Angelic's to twink with!
Lawbringer is a wicked weapon but it has to have wicked base speed...Malice in a speedy weapon is just as good to start with...i think there is an Angelic ring floating about so you can counter the (minimal) drain!
TBH, i don't think we have a Shael and i'm sure as hell not using 3 (non-existant) Sol runes to cube one! Have to baalrun in normal again and see if one drops on the way to the Throne!

My holy bolt makes conan nigh on invincible, so we have the melee meat shield - its just a shame meditation does not regen mercs!

Only thing that will spawn with 4 sockets in normal iirc is a Halberd...i could be very wrong! Normal cows might well drop a 4 soc Poleaxe...if the Cow Gods feel kind! I can open cows with another char then we can beat them down if you like...?

Sorry about that dude, we can do it tonight as i leave band practice at 10 and get on for 10:30 for sure on a Thurs...if you have already done the catch-up levelling then no worries as oOmpie can rune-mule Monday when he is back!

I'm at level 42 now - still got one more to go - I did loads of act 4 runes, Chaos Sanctuary, and even managed big D (I let my merc tank him while I holy bolted him - hose lightening hurts!!) I have a number of gems too to pass on.
Big D gave me Griswolds Edge, Clegclaws shield and nothing much else. I did get an Amn rune on my travels and my merc does now have a malice sword!
Oh for our Avenger I did find a pally shield with a base stat of +15 resist all and 3os!
Yes - I kept Soulflay for someones merc!

Well, if you and Krazeyivan can be on tonight late, seeing as we are all running UK time, then we can level as a party of 3 quite nicely i'd say...as previously mentioned i can be on @ 10:30pm for rune transfer for your shiny new shield and Krazeyivan's shiny new Malice weapon...unless he meant he was only making one for his merc and not him! Let me know what you think dude...

Well with MrKaxe's help I got to level 43. We did big D and some Baal runes and I got myself a manald heal ring - I also gave over the gem and rune bounty that I had been collecting!
Just need to get myself 4 pdiamonds sometime to complete my switch shield.
Still got some presents for the team which shall be given over on monday!
Speaking of presents i got lucky again last night...baal dropped a Wizendraw (unfortunately it rolled the lowest -% cold res of 20% :cry: ) and after the baalrun we decided to move on down to a CS run and first shot with my new bow yielded a shattered corpse with a Twitchthrow between the icechips!! I wet myself! I have speed again (as the Wizen feels slow compared to Rogue's Bow!) and extra cold damage...mmmm...i'm happy!
Need 5 more flawless and we will have those 4 pDia's Krazeyivan!
I'd love to help Masa but i can't get on 'til Monday...painting my m8 a converted 40k model i made for his birthday this weekend!

Quick query - Does our avengers conviction stack with some weapons reduce resistance to fire/cold/lightning ?
Also just thought my 4os shield can be fitted with the runeword Spirit - Tal,Thul,Ort,Amn
So how about this - Avenger gets my 4os shield and runewords it up with Spirit. +2 all skills!
I keep my 3os shield and runeword that with Ancients Pledge and use that for my switch weapon (still planning on welding the Insight!!)

Hello all, just catching up here. Spirit shield! Yummy yummy. I still need to get a few extra levels up. It's Friday, I'm off work and got a few spare hours (before I go back to Bioshock which is super doops), not going out tonight either as the missus is a bit poorly so if anyone fancies a game this evening let me know.
@krazeyivan: actualy i think your setup should be insight as primary weapon... and on switch double spirit (for the massive + skills mainly). in this way you can choose between either a VERY usefull extra aura (meditation) wich will be needed during normal gameplay. or to have some very strong holy bolts and stuff with lots of FCR for special occasions.
actualy i think the spirit is not the best choise for an avenger, + skills dont help him all that much... adough they ARE nice of cource. but i would imagine that a basis resist shield with 4 Pdiamand is VERY helpfull as well... being able to provide over 100 to all resists)
anyways... we should be able to find more nice 4 soccet pally shield, and create both options... that way both of you can make any choise you like.

Your idea holds merit - my build does not really need to pre-buff anything I don't think. Since I'm a support char the more things progress, loading me up with +skills has a positive effect.
Your correct ideally - 2 Spirit runewords (sword and shield) would be great for me to have on switch. Holy bolt would go through the roof, together with other aura's (we would temp lose the mediation from Insight) but for a power up its a good end game idea.
In the meantime I have 2 shields 4os and 3os - will still make Spirit now in the 4os - for use by whoever - the other shield would benefit from ancients pledge (total resistances of the shield would hit +65 for all 4) or 3 pdiamonds if we keep it cheap.
Whoever gets Spirit now is irrelevant really we can make it and use it (I still think for right now its makes more sense for drinkturps and his conviction). More swords and shields I'm sure will drop later on!

Nothing else of significance. I'm now Level 43 and ready for Monday. Cubed up some gems to a flawless topaz and amethyst and only a Tir and Eld rune for my troubles. Got some mana rings +22 and +37 if anyone needs them.
Put a few more points into Conviction and is now -100% res to baddies with -86 % def

Conviction rocks - I'll be on hopefully over the weekend to help whoever needs it (as best I can!!)
When i went to a skill shrine and checked my healing regen it was +35 every 2 second.......... so with insight and running say cleansing thats +70 heal - haha with BO as well - a full team will survive pretty well I'd say
70 healing every 2 seconds is nothing to sneeze at... thats for sure :thumbsup:
about the ancient pledge verses the Pdiamands shield.. at this moment i think ancient pledge is actualy far cheaper to us then the diamands... since we got plenty of ral ort tals from the quest. but whatever... stick init what is best... we will find more and new stuff anyways.

I think the first 5 mins of monday will be sorting everyone's stuff for nightmare!
I picked up a suitable helm for Lore on my travels - I could give my +1 all pally skills circlet to drinkturps if we have the spare sol.
Obviously Insight is top priority - we can make spirit now - which I thinks a good idea to boost my/drinkturps skills for the team!
Ancients pledge can be made in the 3 socket shield.
Loading me with + skills at the moment helps all the team via healing, HB and aura's.

The lvling is quite slow going solo, but doing cowies and baal minions and a wee bit of nightmare blood moors gave me some pretty decent drops:
Frostburns.
Amn.
Charged Amulet (+2 lightning skills) with a little life.
Death's sash (for those that really hate to be frozen :p).
Magic Bahamut's Ring. (+111 to mana rawks when sploding solo).
Some gemmies.
And that's about it, still a couple lvls behind, but I'll see how close I can get to you guys.

i am a bit ashamed to have to tell you that i couldnt keep myselve from it... i just HAD to play a bit... and i gained a lvl doing that :shocked:
so i am now lvl 45... :wink2:
nice finds oompie, specialy the frosties, the ring and the amulet. i think the frosties and ring could be of use to our singer... since he complained A LOT about mana last time.
about the amulet i wanne make myselve very clear.... GIB!!!
about the spirits... i think we need MANY MANY spirits... we will need 2 pally shields with it... and then probably 5 swords (sorc, med pally, necro and singer x2).
a lore could be of use to me as well, aldough i am using the hat with +1 to all skills and 50 MF. and aldough the MF is usefull... the 30 light res and 7 dmg reduction on lore seem better when surviving is the name of the game. at the end however some kind of sorc circlet with +2 all or +3 light skills would be my best choise BY FAR.

Tikadea, I've got myself to level 45 but it was helping out the PartyBoomer with Ivan last night. I think Ivan is 45 too.
The three of us tore through Baals Minions with ease yesterday. When we've got a full team we're going to be very very strong indeed. Must not get too confident in Nightmare though, there's the Fire Enchanted bugged monsters to watch out for.

ps if anyone has got a three socketed Heraldic Shield would you let me know. I cannot find the one I had stashed which is odd. Must have sold it. I have a three socketed Targe donated by Ivan but my block will fall by 25%.
i am pretty sure we will be HUGELY powerfull when we are anywhere near complete... indeed so powerfull that that might be a problem... since we are likely to kill stuff so fast that we dont get the time to warn if FE...
another sol is good news... some nice things we can do with those. insight, lore for example... but also upgrading normal unique weapons to exceptionals requires a sol.
i forgot to mention btw... i did find a shadowfang, and hired myselve a barb. he totaly rocks with it :jig: also some minor, but probably still usefull finds are in my stash.
we realy should take a minute or 5 (more if needed) to sort out all the stuff we got... and then start rocking like we never rocked before.

I was also a bit naughty in the fact that oompie had the keys to the rune mule! ;-) (To be fair I put a few runes in from my travels!)
I have created a Spirit shield which rolled not too bad, I also gave my +1 circlet to drinkturps and created a Lore helm to replace it.
Currently running +4 all skills. Ready for this evening - just got to sit through work - which is dog slow

Well we can create insight - just who wields it now.
In Nightmare if anyone spots a decent 2os armour I would adore Stealth as my armour is pretty poor - good Def thats it.
The FCR would add to insight should I wield it too

I am using the other M's rod at the minute for a weapon.

Having some weird trouble with joining games.. dupers a re at it again, me thinks... but we have an op en spot atm. so those who this applies to, feel free to enter battle.net again :)
i think we had some good playing yesterday... despite of BNet behaving VERY badly.
we were kicked out several times, but strangely moost of the times not all were kicked, and 2 or 3 remained in the game. also we had trouble creating games... so all in all not much playing time was left.
we did a good item sort out first... increasing fire power and survivability with giant leaps.
then we started and managed to finish act 1 NM, all quests and all bosses. at many times we felt more then a little overpowered... actualy we were so strong things werent funny anymore. many times a fight was over before it even began... with all monsters dead before even all could enter the fight. and single targets were no better off alltogether, i have seen many 1 hit kills by our hammer barb on those.
despite all lag and BNet problems i still had tons of fun... so thanks for the evening guys!
Yeah, we were overpowered, but things will smoothen out once we progress a little further into nightmare.
Some people are already wearing parts of hell-viable gear at the moment, so A1 NM is laughable in a full game.
After the game we created another Spirit Sword, which I am carrying atm, but if we find a better role for it, that's where it will go. I held on to my wand just in case :)
I suggest next week we spend hardly any time sorting gear etc, but just try to plow through A2 and A3 in one sitting (being very cautious around the dolls of course ;0). After that things should start to get interesting again, unless Mephy decides to throw us 1337 gear :)

Our team this time around proves that with a well-rounded party of characters with complimentary skills equipped with half-decent gear will dominate the game! Sure, we will slow down, but we are equipped to deal with any situation which is why it seems less of a challenge...we can go back to wacky build if you want!!
Anyhoo, despite dupe-lag, we did get well under way last night and although Andy's drop was more than rubbish (come to think of it, the 2 pics i took were a bit rubbish as well...man she went down fast!) i had fun freezing things solid or watching them shatter :thumbsup:

I think that we are using the games best skills to our advantage and we are improving as a team, obviously we got a bit lost with no bear to follow! :-D
But that aside we did very well - its not exactly cookie cutter builds anyway.
My dual Spirits are just pure gravy - my healing with them equipped is nudging +40 every 2 secs. I now have the insight as well on switch - the skill levels take a hammering but thats what the switch button is for!
So on switch I have powerful aura's and massive HB - FOH
The good news is Act 2 is undead - which means I own it!

My resis are utter crap... Some still in the red zone.
I am planning to pump MF and I will try to max and stack lightning resist, so I can jump between the gloams and start spamming Dim when the need arises.
We'll see how it goes. I' m just hiding behind the cannonfodder as usual anyways ;)

I was on last night to level my merc as he was behind - I let him take out Andy (my holy bolt finger was getting tired mind!) His malice sword made streaks of blood all over the place.
Got crappy drops - I am 1 point off charge - then I'm almost an ambulancadin!
The insight was pretty helpful - I ran with the cleansing aura and anything that made a dent in the red bulb - lasted oh say a second or so!
Conan the merc with that and HB is invincible (as long as he's not mobbed)

Sorry to say I do not know anyone with that name. Yesterday I was bringing my new Sorc into the Hardcore world with the benefit of our found Cathans Traps set.
On a side note anyone finds Cathan's rule (the staff weapon - holla!)
And I was browsing the game lists - there was a baalrun and one called
"help with wp" and a single level 90+ barb was sitting there.......
I had to hold Sinbad's Sister back from going to layeth the smackdown- she's a fiesty level 12 pure fire sorc!

Great set for low level sorcs...near max res in Normal and when you run out of mana you can surprise everyone in the game (especially the melee chars by doing more damage than them!) by whacking seven bells out of the monsters as opposed to running away! I have a spare staff if you want it dude...i'll be on @ 10:30 (after band practice) to give it to you :thumbsup:

That is savage...you didn't give me the pass...what...don't trust me?! j/k but seriously yeah that is savage and more so when peeps don't admit it...i was in a clan many moons ago and as a co-leader i had the mule passwords for the whole clan's collective wealth and a new member (kid) really wanted something on it and i talked to the head honcho about lending him items and giving him access to take and put back (a Jalah's Mane was what he wanted i believe) and I vouched for his honesty etc and he did a number on me by cleaning out the uber items and buggering off!! The head honcho didn't hold it against me as he believed the kid was trustworthy as well but since then I have never given away a password based on this experience...

My barb is feeling confortable in nm. Res reads like 75/75/75/70 ( Ancient pledge ftw. ) and with BO Iīm at 2.2 k life. Beetles and gloams? Yawn. Come and get some! should a 4 soc CS drop a Spirit Sword would be nice, as the requirements of the swords we found so far were to big.

We'll sort the mercs on monday. It's a shame that the (RIP Hofmeister 2003) bear is leaving us but waflob when you have a choice of a 6 year old computer game or life, it's not a difficult decision! Our bear was running with a blessed aim merc. I have defiance.
Waflob, I wish you every success on your Russian studies. The closest I ever got to Moscow was Tallinn and Riga. Well, they were part of the USSR, although I highly recommend Tallinn over Riga, it's picturesque and not so "organised crime", I'm off topic now and could carry on for quite some time!

Aura's wise I fill in 2 slots - Insight and whatever else I fancy...
That leaves 2 aura slots left - waflob was blessed aim so thats up for grabs and as mentioned we need a might. Whoever else is Act 2 merc-less just sound off here indicating your desire for a merc and its first come, first served easiest way around the matter!
Then we barn storm Act 2 - just got to get through work....

hi guys!
wonderfull evening ew got yesterday!
a full party, and all (well almoost all) items and mercs sorted out before the session.
we very soon ran off, and headed into act 2, which we literaly devoured within 40 minutes. best discription of our fight with duriel was cold blooded murder, as she stood about as much chance as a 6 weeks old puppy against an enraged 1000KG Polar bear.
so wel before 9 we were in act 3, wich we decided to take on the same way we did act 2... run for your life and kill all in sight! we were still rediculously overpowered and any beast died within seconds of coming into vieuw. i do remember 2 close calls here however, one on KTA-Tasty i think, who toke a big hit from something getting him into yellow life. that monster never got a chance for a second hit however as the rest of the party unleased its anger. the second was in the sewers, where i was teleporting around a bit, when i met some group of extra fast extra strong (or whatever it was kinda mods) group of vamps. they killed my merc within 2 seconds and then came onto me. 3 full rejufs and a very quick save and exit later i was safe however... but it sure did count as a close call.
mephy was slaughtered the same way duriel was, and being the kind guy he is he dropped us war travs AND goldwrap... witch of cource we will use with pleasure. we even had time before the session ended to do another mephrun, but then the drops werent worth it. at 10 we all left, having had a VERY productive evening, and tons of fun with it.
quote of the evening must go to the following. when we were in travincial, and entered the fight with the council 1 person was a little slow in entering the fight. not realy slow, but just 3 or 4 seconds later then the rest. so when he (finaly :wink2: ) arived he said, and i quote, "what happend to the council?". we all had a good laugh at that 1.

Yeah, I had to hit a full juv! We were in the flayer dungeon. I was taking down some dolls but there was a boss doll and saw that it was going to go pop and attempted an escape. The combined killing power of the team meant I had no chance of escape before they all popped and I dropped to about 200hp. A close call by our standards.
There were some lovely moments when I was on a pack of baddies only to find they all vanished. Party_Boomer was popping them corpses like only a Necro can. I was left looking around empty space to see what I could hit next. Very nice.
Looking forward to next week. Those extra points of Izzy will make my Vengeance look pretty, convictions maxed and the goodies being dropped are getting better. Still got three empty sockets in my Alders Rhythm. Any suggestions?

I had a few close calls yesterday - one time I got caught in a lag burst and I the other I was surrounded in Flayers I think and got popped, did very well to stay alive!
Apart from that I was charging around!
I am becoming less of a front line fighter and more of a lover.....eh I mean undead holy bolt fighter! Holy bolt is in the 20's and FOH is soon to be in double digits. Fanatacism is quite a party aura and that will be maxed later on.
Next on the list is some decent armour - I am literally running Act 2 normal armour
P.S. Healing is now (with cleansing and insight) +80 ish
How could i forget Soundcheck?! Sorry dude, not quite with it as i'm ill atm...coughing my guts up and i can't smoke so i'm getting a little better but more irritable from lack of smoking!
I really need to upload those pics of us doing the damage then! Didn't have a chance last night as I took a friend's opportunity to finish act 4 and 5 norm for my sorc so i could get my gladrags on and do some baalruns! Rebuild is well on the way now!
Just goes to show, a well-balanced party can take on the game well with junky gear (hmm deja-vu) :thumbsup:

Previously have usually done some hell cows and called the session complete. We then started recruiting for a new session, as we did with this one.
The character is yours to delete / let expire / play some more etc etc etc. Whatever you want. Sometimes, a player loses a char in late hell and brings in a previous char to carry on, as catching up is not really an option.
Glad to hear that you're all doing well and having fun - keep it up.

EDIT: Now that i have thought about it, 'Treachery' would serve me well speed-wise so yeah, bring on the Shael's, Thul's and Lem's!

Had a great time once again.
One close call for me right in the beginning when we were bumming around the Outer Steppes, the group got separated and I ran into Gloams.
1 Full Juv, Dim and a sturdy merc got me out alive, so no harm done :)
We Did 1 Travi/Meph run to get our assa up to speed, after that is was just rushing for D and forges. Next time, Act 5 and for now, as promised, the rune stash so you guys can think of uses for those (not too great, but it could have been worse) drops:

it was a great night once again. a bit more relaxed then last time, when we did 2 complete acts, while this time we "only" did act 4. (and a grand total of 7 forges, 4 diablo's and a meph/trav run)
i will ook this week to find that hard needed chipped topaz, so i can melt those 3 thuls into 1 amn... and that amn into my very hard desired spirit.
next week we should complete NM, and do some baalruns for items and exp as well.

Good idea, but at the same time we could really inforce the 'Follow the Barb with the Big Hammer' thing...it's not that hard, we just all get sidetracked!
Perhaps we can try "Follow Tasty". Although we have 2 pallys in red, he is a real point runner. Perhaps a little less erratic in his pathfinding. But follow the hammer barb works for me.
Whichever option we choose it all depends on us paying attention to what we agree on.

No Fal as far as I know. If we DO have one on one of the chars still Obediende would be nice I think. Kinda expensive considering our rune base, but 40% CB on a fast poking merc would be nice I guess...
I'm sure there are tons of options. I am by no means a runeword buff, I just named the ones that require a Thul (Ctrl + F :p).

I'll be looking for the sweetest one handed rune word I can lay my hands on too. After "borrowing" jools from peeps I've got a jury rigged Aldurs Rhythm with a base damage now at 93 - 125
Crescent Moon would be the ultimate yummy smack stick for me but that will also take away an Um (should we find one). If anyone finds a three socketed phase blade or cryptic sword let me know!

Sounds like a plan, Batman...that way, we get a balanced use of the runes gained! You get better BO (which benefits us all) and our front man gets to smack away without fear of the elements!
i fully agree that safety gear should go first and foremoost to those who are in danger moost.
the hel for myth sounds like a solid plan, and by far the best use i can think of for a hel.
and for as singer... wouldnt you need (idealy) 2 spirit swords?

I spent some time gambling my 1,3 mil away (LOUSY results, although some ok-ish circlets for our assa are in my stash) and to finish it off and get some money back in my account I spent some time bumming around act 1 and wasting the Countess. She was pretty nice to me and dropped me a Manald Heal and an Amn rune, which means we have all the ingredients for another Spirit sword in the Rune stash (4os broad sword included)
By the way: My build is done :)
Amp and CE are maxed atm. Dim and Lower Resist are lvl 10 with gear, I have bone shield and all synergies and gumby and all synergies.
I am open to suggestions, but I was thinking about putting 1 in RS, RM and Revive and dump 20 into SkelMast. That way I will have a couple sturdy meat shields close at hand if the need arises. Plus it makes my char solo-able once we finish the KTA round :)

@Drinkturps: i knew i could probably find all about it on the internet but you know... i am a lazy guy :grin:
but i wasnt actualy asking for any exact description, let alone an advertisement for the game. i just wanted to know what genre it is (shooter, strategie, RPG etc etc) since the name doesnt ring a bell here.

Team-based Capture the flag style gameplay with different player roles based on the granddaddy of squadbased games: the Team Fortress mod for Quake.
Apologies guys but it looks like i won't be making it tonight after all as when i got home i found we are having wireless troubles; the main computer plugged into the router connects to the internet but i cannot connect on my comp upstairs by wireless so i doubt i can fix it in time when i get home to join in...if i can, great, but it doesn't look likely...

Went pop the same time as the charming FE Ventor. Well it's my own fault end of the day. You get over confident. Most of my deaths have been a result of not respecting the minions!
Got my gear back though so thanks for that guys. Don't worry peeps. Tastys brother TooTasty is coming along fine solo'd and untwinked and is currently level 14 in the Sewers. I've not transferred any of his gear over yet from the original Tasty. That Shield with 75/80/80/80 base ressies is something else!

Yeah, sucked big time...
We started the evening out with 6 heroes. Our singer and his muse the ponytailed bowazon being absent... Coincidence??? *nudge*
Anyhow, enough punch left to the party to be steamrolling through Act 5. We started off a little less gung-ho than before sinceour BO and Shout were not the same as from our missing loverboy :)
Some of the fights actually turned into fights and were a bit more challenging than just plowing through the monsters. First close call was mine. Alongside the Fronzen River I opened an evil urn and still in full mf gear a full pack of gloams zapped me. Dim and a juvie prevented them from doing real harm.
After that I quickly swapped out my tarnhelm and MF boots for a 30 @res circlet we gambled last week and a pair of tearhaunches. Problem solved :)
After rescuing Anya our second barb had to leave. We uterly destroyed the ancients, although we did 1 restart when the axe-dude was FE. The WSK did not pose any problem, but here our assa had to leave as well.
Onwards we moved, 1 sorcy, 2 pallies and 1 necro. Insight still present so still enough stopping power, but no more BO. The minions turned out to be bugged but a full sweep of the Throne Room actually fired Baal up again, so he would send in the second wave. Things were going smooth until our Convict pally got blasted off the planet by a FE Ventor. Fortunately Baal bugged up again, so we were able to loot the corpse withour Lister and friends ********ing up the funeral service.
RIP Tasty.
Still had some good fun, but I guess this is a warning to us all...

i have got nothing to add oOmpie, very nice description of the evening.
sad to see a casualty, but glad to hear he IS going to be rebuild.
if you need ANY help with him... or just a couple of fast baals... please give a shout on these forums, as i am sure many will help you out. specialy my sorc might come in handy with the normal baalruns, as i can tele in normal without any risk.

Sad to hear, that we had our first victim. Yesterday I had to help one of my wifeīs friends to move from one flat to annother, as she was lacking plushy guys to carry the heavy stuff. Since there were only three other guys, the evening became longer than planned and when I returned home arround midnight, I didnīt even feel like doing anything else than dropping in my bed. For catching up I will need a helping hand, as I have to say it with the words of the King of Pop : "Iīm a lover not a fighter." :kiss:
That does suck indeed :hanky: but i'm sure the rebuild will be ready in time for next week so all will be well in a matter of time.
Can't get my internet to work still...think i'm gonna need a new router...i'll try and see if that can be sorted while i am in Egypt but if it can't be i might not be on for a few Mondays...

Well TooTasty bit the dust last night :sad2: whilst being aided by Party_Boomer and Thundergirl , in a frenzy of electrical bolts in a false tomb of Tal Rasha! Feel kinda guilty for wasting their time.
All is not lost though for the Tasty family is rather extended. A long lost cousin called the Deedsmaster is in readiness and is now level 13. Only 50 more levels to go until Monday!
I'm going to twink to keep him nice and safe until I'm at a decent level to continue questing with the rest of KTA. I will then revert back to Tasty's original equipment, thank goodness I stuck it on a mule. Levelling up in mule games is the way forward. I will shout if I need a hand with anything to those who are online when I'm on.
MrKaxe I hope your trip to Egypt is pleasure and not business. Spent two weeks touring around it many years ago and it is still the best and most fascinating holiday I've had. The local beer is called Stella but not as we know it and the local driving is rather bonkers.
dont feel to sorry about wasting our time... we (at least i) had fun doing it.... aldough it was a sad end ofcource

well.. yesterday evening i helped boosting deedsmaster, and we finished normal and did baalruns till lvl 30. then i had to leave and i dunno where he is now. the lvls up to 45ish will be piece of cake from now on... but then he will need to go true NM as well... till at least mid sixties. i think he will need some help doing this as well... so people keep on your toes!

Tika, Deedsmaster is still alive. I've been too busy at work at the moment to do any levelling. I'm currently lev 33. I'm working today and it looks like I'm in Sunday too. I may have to miss this Mondays session as I have not had any spare time and the time I do have I will need to spend with the wife as she's got the hump with my overtime:undecided: !!!
Your help though has been invaluable and thanks for those Baal runs. I'm in Act1 NM at the moment and looking good. I've got a dimensional sword of yours which will carry me through levs 37-42. As soon as I hit 42 I can get back my original Aldurs with the funky jools!

Hello all. Worked all weekend so I'm still at level 33.
If I do come on this evening it will be to solo in Act1 and hopefully I will be able to catch up with you all next week.
If anyone finds any nice pally stuff tonight, hang onto it for me! :wave:
if anyone needs catching up: i will try to be online half an hour early to be able to help.
and in general i think tonight will be a night to finish NM, and do some baalruns etc to lvl a bit and find more items. we might actualy want to choose to do some real fast baals in normal to help drinkturps with me teleing to baal, creating a new game, and the rest killing the minions while i tele in the next game. exping can go real fast that way... and if we manage 10 baals in a game with some 5 or 6 people there for exp that would mean some 10 lvls to him... and its manageble within half an hour. besides... normaal baal can drop nices as well.
lets just see tonight what we want/do

attendance was rather poor yesterday evening, with only 4 showing at our destignated playtime.
anyhow: we decided to do some baalruns, but the first and the second time we came to fight the minions... they just werent there. turned out that the game had somehow bugged itselve, and baal didnt want to trow his minions at us... a shame since we were quite ready for them :grin:
third try we finaly got the chance to fight the minions and they died with great passion, we (not they) had a good laugh about it. baal was quite a walkover as well, dropping nothing nada zilth... as he would turn out to do for the rest of the evening.
having spent quite a bit of time trying to fix the frigging bugged minion thing already over an hour of our playing time was gone now, and our assa had to call it a night. within 3 minuts of him leaving dough our avenger, being lvl 33 at that moment since he died last week and is now rebuilding, came online. the 3 remaining KTAers decided to help him lvl a bit. so we did a series of fast baalruns in normal, with me teleporting to the throneroom, and then creating a next game. and the others killing the crap out of the minions and baal.
so far so good, lets hope next week more people can make it and that our avenger is back on track.
