Socket Quest??

i heard something about. since monorachs are max 4 sockets...if u go to lazurk for the q he will automatically give you 4 sockets?
is this true? and if it is ..what other wep/armor can also skil 1 socket to 2-4 or w/e

For the monarch part, larzuk will always give the max number of sockets an item can have, so the answer is yes, it will get 4 sockets.

Please not that some of the items, if found in normal, are limited by their ilvl to a lesser number of sockets. However, items found later in the game when taken to larzuk will get max sockets.

As for the second question, I'm not sure I understand what you're asking.

Magical items will get 1-2 sockets (varies)
Rares, sets, and uniques will get 1 socket.
You cannot add sockets to an already socketed item.
White items will get the max number of sockets possible for that item. Check the arreat summit (http://www.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/weaponsandarmor.shtml#normal)for those details.
Max sockets possible for a helm is 3, for a weapon is 6, and for a shield is 4, although some items may have a lower max.
