got grief and exile

ok I finally got the good weapons for my smiter..but my problem is I been doing constant runs on pindle,andy,countess and meph and travincal runs. I have like 120 MF maybe but I find nothing good. Meph drops just rares never uniques. Countess drops runes everytime but they only go up to like fal. Travincal rarely drops good stuff.


What am I doing wrong? I dont have enigma so I can tele and kill countess and andy really fast. I can't find any decent stuff so I can get enigma and I don't have any keys so I can do ubers :(

help me please :( what do I do

A smiter isn't really a good magic finder. You're better off using a sorceress or fishymancer for MFing if you want a higher chance to find uniques as they can hold more MF equipment.

That said you're only getting rares from Mephisto as you're having a string of bad luck. You'll get uniques eventually, just have to keep running.

A Fal from the countess isn't too bad. She's not going to drop Ist very often, so you have to run her hundreds of times to get the good runes (on average).

You're doing nothing really wrong; MF-ing takes a lot of patience. I think there is some more info on MF in the Single Player section.

One thing I can recommend is that you don't use a Smiter for MF; it's not the most effective build. Try building a Blizzard Sorc to run Mephisto. You can teleport and use the moat trick (see the following videos on YouTube on how to do this: video 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seTqbaxN5tE) and video 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqoI1EL_DAM).

Also consider a Meteorb Sorc for other MF areas, or a Skellymancer.

EDIT: Murmulis was just a bit quicker than I. It seems that we have the same answers pretty much.
