I can tell you how i build my BvB/BvA.

BvB gear

Arreats socket 40ED 9dex
Grief Beserker
Fortitude Archon
Storm socket 40ED 9dex
Draculs grasp
Verdungo
Gore riders.
Angelics rings + amu


BvA Setup

Arreats socket 15Res/15Ias or Crown of Ages with BER + BER
Grief + Beast
Enigma Whyrm (just for looks)
Draculs grasp or Trang-Ouls gloves
Arachnid mesh
Gore riders or boots with resists
Highlords
2Raven frost with high AR+Dex
2Fcr rings with good stats (str, res, mana, AR)

Thats the "Basic setups"
You can allso have stuff like Doom axes, Kiras, Whisps, Thunder goods, hotspurs whatever you might need.

Just remember that when building a BvB/BvA its NOT a BvC.
You cant put more than 1 point in leap, you need as much
in iron skinn and shout as possible.

Allso dont use the heavy armors when building a BvA.
The little extra defence is not worth the loose in life.

Mine has 37*3/xx/20 scs and 12*20/5 in stash and most of my items has perfect stats.

I does really well. I havent lost a BvB yet. Not saying i cant loose, just havent happend yet

10% ow only - yes thats a tribute to the overpowered dmg ow does. In bvb it main thought is not to have 2 opponents which have both 100 ow and max out def and ar ;).
as you can read in the topic about bug fury, ow owns them all.

Mana - tactiques, patientce and train. And you will come along with 200-300 mana. And your opponent will help you to get mana back ;) through dmg 2 mana in angelic, eni maybe storm.

and the eni is not the worst choice. it gives you a lot of str = dmg, skills life and speed!

IMO, its ow's that is what wins a BvB duel. My personal favorite set up ive used had been:

Arreats 3x/8-9 dex jewel
Lacorated Plate Duress
3x/8-9 Dex Jewel'd SS
Dracs
39/15 Dungo
Up'd Gores
Angelic Combo
Grief Zerker

I dont get some crazy def like 30k+, but imo its not worth it when you strike em down with nearly 70% OW's and your 90+. Ive taken down so many Fort weilding BvB's i think its a worthless armor on a BvB. I will say, I really want to make one this ladder season with a Eth Zod'd Up'd Toothrow armor. Ive heard great things about them, and using that might make me decide to try out a couple different equipment changes.

For that set up ya, that would rock out big time. Since your able to make up the ow's through the fury, the fort ACTUALLY benefits you. Where as i see most bvb's use ebotd/fort or greif/fort and the only ow's they seem to manage to get are from dracs/gores or lol, the horrible rend/gore bvb's.

I will say though... the gear you have is rather uncommon and for most, would prolly be near impossible to get.

When 1.10 was frist released the was a bug in blizzards coding or w/e, that allowed a weapon to retain the mods from a rune if the rune was erased from it (hel+ town portal scroll) i.e. someone took a 3os Eth Balrog Blade, put a Zod in it, hel+ town portal scroll and erased the rune from the sword, and was left with a 3os Eth Balrog Blade that was Indestructable. Many others used this on things like eth shankos, eth 4os and 3os Armors, etc, etc.

The bug was fixed quite fast, but there were still many of these types of items made. Most of the by now though are duped into oblivion lol.

Allmost true. It only worked with the Zod rune, you couldent tahe a OHM and erase it and still have 50% ED on the sword.

Btw just curious, has anyone made a BvB out of a Fool's Modded Axe? I mean you can get rare or Blood crafted Axes with crazy mods. Statistically speaking a PERFECT rare or blood axe could blow even a grief out of the water. Getting pretty much the same damage numbers on top of Fool's mod and being indestructable.

And... does the 1.08 arreats still do that 15% defense thing or has blizzard nerfed that crud again.

My BvB gear list so far for a lvl 90+ barb,perfect archon fort,213 def upped gores,40/15 dundagos, perfect draks,742 def eth upped arreats,37/400 grief z,20/20 b torch,20/20/10 anni, but my charms are the hardest to find if anyone has some on uswest nl ill buy them, 120ar 45 life 10 max dmg gc,and 3/20/20 sc anyone have?:wave:

A blood axe indeed and blow the ****e out of most bvb available weapons. In my eyes a rare would be like:

40 ias
400+ ed
fools mod
2 sockets
Ethereal
repair mod

Socket with something like Lo+Um or ed/max or 2x crazy rare jewels (really the sockets should complement where you lacking). Its one of those damn near to impossible rares, and even without the repair mod and you had to use a zod, theres still a spot left to Um, Lo, or whatever it.

Realistically though:

20-40 ias
350-450 ed
fools is a must
ethereal
2 sockets

all you would need would be a ed/ias+zod if no rep mod, or ed/ias+ some other rune/jewel to hit the 34 ias a zerker would need.

i made a duress out of a 500def archon plate for my bvc incase of hammerdins/bvb duels

i went all vit with my barb and turns out i need a bit of str to reach 103
any other bvc out there who went full vit had this problem before?

Well since the bulk of your str is going to be coming from enigma, its no wonder you cant wear something with 103 str req. You would probably have to make it in a dusk or lower str armor in order to have it available. In all honesty you dont lose out on THAT much def sacrificing for a lower str armor.

Your barb is looking great, but i fully agree with red, swap the fort out for a eth up'd zod'd Tooth or High def Duress (ive taken a fancy to lacquered plates myself). IMO a bvb should have at least 50% OW's, just the 35 from dracs+gores never seems to do it by themselves.

If it were a BvB there would be no difference, but since im a BvA i need the str to be able to use Coa, so i cant rely on the added 9 str. from arreats.

I guess it all comes down to how you build your Barb, for me though 40/9 dex was the best choice.

Im attempting to gather gear for my bvb on east ladder now myself. Things are going slow... very slow. But id say in the next month i should know where i will be gear wise.

yeah plus if you were using up-arreats, it can be the heaviest item so the str may not do much for you. Plus pushing for max/block is greater then pushing for a slightly heavier armor and saves vita. Not really omg critical in any case.

Looks like 21 to me. 183 dex needed vs 204 with ss is what I got but feel free to check the math...
I would round up since 0.X % will require an additional dex point in the end (182.5/203.1)
