OK. I play MP with a friend (Mike) regularly and we have had this idea for quite a while and now that we have found another person (Noob) we can at last realize it:
WE WILL RECREATE THE ANCIENTS AND BEAT THEM AT THEIR OWN GAME !
The idea is to use the skills they use and also make them look alike. Mike is playing Talic (WW barb), Noob is building Madawc (Throw barb) and I am doing Korlic (Leap Attack barb). As far as I am concerned I have the coolest one.
Our goal is at least to beat the NM ancients. We don't have decent gear for 3 barbs so we will do it pretty much untwinked. We will also give Hell a shot but without gear and with a Noob amongst us that may be tricky.
Here's what I need: some suggestions on how to build a Leap Attacker. I've written down my ideas below, let me know what you think.
SKILLS
A question: do warcries from different barbs stack? I'm assuming below that they don't, so can assume that my friends will get some as well.
20 Leap Attack (right-button attack)
20 Leap (synergy)
20 Concentrate (left-button attack)
20 Battle Orders (synergy)
10-20 Polearm Mastery
1 Berserk
1 Battle Command
STATS
Pretty standard.
Strength - enough for equipment
Dexterity - enough for weapon
Vitality - everything else
Energy - base
EQUIPMENT
Remember, untwinked (hoping for some good mid-level runes, and socketed items), and it needs to look like Korlic (haha, the Noob who plays Madawc needs to play bare-chested!).
Weapon - Bec-De-Corbin (exceptional Halberd) with INSIGHT (alternatives: HONOR, STRENGTH)
Armor - Russet / Chaos Armor with SMOKE or good rare / unique
Helm - Winged Helm with RADIANCE or a good rare / unique
others - anything I can find.
By the way, we don't know when we will do this, we need a decent amount of time (e.g. a whole weekend) to get this started and that will be tricky. But I'll definitely let you know how it went.
