Yes the guide is still tight,nothing has changed except the possibility of using newer runewords.

Yeah, it's still perfectly viable. You also might want to check out Rik's WW guide (in his signature). Between his and Ash's, definitely two of the best Barb guides I've ever seen.

If you want a guide for Uber Running Frenzy Barbs, then check out the one that Spankeh put out. It's easily the best guide on its topic, but it's general enough that you could adapt it to a straight PvM Frenzy Barb, or a MF Frenzy Barb.
