So I was looking through the game list and when I clicked on one I got some kind of error. Diablo was closed down and when I try to start it again I get this:

Strangely enough I can start it in windowed mode, but not fullscreen. Gah it's such a pain to reinstall everything...

did you try the classic; take out the disk, clean it, stick it back in trick ? if yes, reinstalling doesn't take to long :wink3:

I googled it yesterday and everyone and their dog has gotten this problem using all kind of stuff. Most people get the same error, except for "Windows: Unable to locate component" they get "Windows: Unable to locate disk". Usually it seems to be some kind of problem with a drive and it seems to have happened after a Windows Update. It's just that I had been playing it fine until it d2 crashed mid game and after that I couldn't start it.

Found this among other things:

"This error message is caused by virus or spyware activity. To resolve this error, update virus and spyware definitions and perform a complete system scan. Once the viruses and spyware have been removed, run the installation again."

I'm gonna do a scan and get back here.

Hmm, the above things seems to be connected with another similiar error.

Windows exception C0000135 (a.k.a. STATUS_DLL_NOT_FOUND) is my problem.

"Windows attempted to load a DLL file and encountered some error condition. Among the many possible causes are that the file is missing or damaged, or that there is Registry corruption."

Did a spyware scan and antivirus just in case. Didn't help (did not find anything). I might try reinstall soon.

UPDATE:
Ok, reinstalled and it works again. Seems like some dll or registry was damaged when the game crashed.
