Port Forwarding...I have no idea what this means. I just want to enable ports 6112 through to 6119 on my router, and all they have is Port Forwarding and Port Triggering. Which one do I want? If I do triggering, what port is triggered for Diablo 2? It works fine without my router BTW.

http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm

for better instructions, pick your router, then diabloii and follow the directions :wink3:

try setting your ip as a dmz on your router, it might be your isp or something else causing the disconnects

The DMZ hosting feature allows one local user to be exposed to the Internet for use of a special-purpose service such as Internet gaming or videoconferencing. DMZ hosting forwards all the ports at the same time to one PC. The Port Forwarding feature is more secure because it only opens the ports you want to have opened, while DMZ hosting opens all the ports of one computer, exposing the computer so the Internet can see it.

Any PC whose port is being forwarded must have its DHCP client function disabled and should have a new static IP address assigned to it because its IP address may change when using the DHCP function.

be sure to turn if off when not needed, as the entire internet will be able to see your computer, it bypasses all firewall and port forwarding features ect..

setting it on every type of router is different
should be near the port forwarding and port triggering pages

hrm after playing around with it somemore at my gfs place...it still wasn't working...it did for a 20-30 min period...but then it stopped...

i haven't a clue why...even though i opened the port on both her router and zonealert/alarm its very strange
