Quick question- for those of you who have used shiver armor before, did you find it useful? It's 2 whole points that could be used elsewhere so I'm a bit apprehensive about getting it on my new sorc when the ladder resets.

That depends. I am guessing you want a high DR, in which case I would recommend it. A 45% bonus to your DR is a great thing, especially if you are going to build a high DR/block sorceress, and wanna protect yourself from physical attacks. In short, it's worth it if DR is important for you.

What kind of sorceress do you wanna build though, a dual-elem sorceress or something else?

If you are using Orb / Blizzard, it's woth the one point (I always take Frozen Armor in any case). Otherwise use Frozen Armor.

I'll probably be using a blizzard sorc.

Well why not, 2 points isn't too much for 45% more DR. I'd say go with it.

Shiver Armor is always useful, whether you get the skill from a staff on switch or by investing 1pt.

Q: Why is Shiver Armor useful?
A: Because it chills monster when they decide to attack, which will grant a you some precious moments to escape their attack with Teleport or other means.

On Contrary Frozen Armor chills on hit!

I wouldn't chose Shiver Armour on the basis of a Defence Rating bonus alone...this is because a sorceress has low defence (in general, unless you go melee) and 45% of low defence is still a pretty low defence. I would however use it for the reason suggested by Melianor, which is that it gives you time to teleport away. Since you are making a Blizzard Sorceress, I would say its worth putting a point into Shiver Armour because you already have all the prerequisites and it will be useful when you are teleporting through the Durance to reach Mephisto. For dual element builds however, when points are fairly tight, I could see not getting a cold armour at all, depending on your play style as much as your equipment.

edit: Spelling error and to add that the DR boost is still nice, although that wasn't the deciding factor for me just to make it clearer!

Worth it, in my experience, for the DR boost plus chilling your attacker so they don't get a second hit on you.
