I always make pretty traditional characters, and this ladder season I want to start with something a little new. I love sorceresses for teleport and orb, and I want to focus on orb. I'm thinking about making a very safe build because I play hardcore only. How does this look for my first MF character of the new ladder season. Keep in mind my gear will be junk, it's a ladder reset!
Orb - 20
Cold Mastery - 17 with skills
Telekenesis - 20
E-Shield - 10
Warmth - 20
12 in prerequisites.
1 in Chilling Armor. ( I think this is bugged, and I've seen sweet dueling vids that show it rocking out)
I've loved orb since I've started this game like 8 years ago. I figure I'll be able to handle all hell bosses for MFing. I'm thinking an awesome energy shield and meditation + insane warmth will keep me safe from all but the nastiest manaburners in hell. I plan on having somewhere near 1k life for those manaburn kiddies. I've heard that E shield works with a 0 resist base, so would that negate my need for maxed resists? I am all ears, thanks in advance for any criticisms or critiques.

Perhaps this guide will help, you have a similar skill point layout although I think the points in warmth go to teleport in this guide http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=557123

Thank you for the input, I had seen that guide, and I liked it. The only differenece in my build is I wanted warmth instead of teleport because they seem to serve the same purpose - making constant teleporting easier, and with warmth all other skills benefit also.

The guide suggests points in Teleport because if you get mana burned you will still be able to get out. Warmth won't regenerate you bulb that fast, believe me. And for Orb you don't really need high level warmth. For a pure MFer, Tele > Warmth in any way.
