View Full Version : Infinity Switch?

I noticed that sometimes auras linger for a few seconds. For example, if you're in a party with someone using vigor and you enter a tp, you can still see the aura and have it's effects for a few more seconds even though you're in town.
Could I use this in a duel? Let's say I'm using a cs zon. If I have infinity on so that the aura is under my enemy then switch to my java/shield. Would the infinity aura stay in effect for at least long enough for me to cs once?

This was a something a lot of folks did pre 1.10? patch
it is really short, and not very effective now. But on paper this would work.

Is the short time you have to attack why it's ineffective? I mean, you have to have infinity on, run around until the aura is on the enemy, then switch and attack before it disappears.
If that's the case, couldn't you just get as much frw as possible? I know it will probably never work on some enemies (tele-crazed sorcs), but maybe those stuck with running instead of tele?

I have never seen this done actually. How about you try it and post back here to let us know how it went.

I post it sometime in the next couple days.

It still works these days. The clearest example would be when you are teleporting to baal, and you meet a conviction pack. Even after you are out of conviction's relatively short radius, you will still be under its effect. Theoretically, your idea could work, but I think the time taken to switch would overlap the time which conviction lingers for.
Pallys do use this in duels. A lot of pallys flash holy freeze for tele-smite. Im not sure if you can stack two auras on each other this way, ie switching auras and have the current aura take effect on top of the previous aura. If so, I can think of a lot of ways to abuse it.

You can't stack auras like that anymore. It used to work but now there is a little delay.

Yeah, just what I expected. There is a delay in auras wearing off as well though.
