I'm pretty sure you can chose to mod in whatever way you wish here on SP but you just have to understand the implications of this if trying to trade in the SPF. I think this should be fine.

I was thinking either Median 2008 (all new skills, tons of uniques, new runewords, basically a brand new game) or Nezermontias (something like four new skills for each character, new items, new item types like guns and souls, new game mechanic - collecting souls) mod, both of which you can check out at the Phrozen Keep. I can PM a link if you need one.

Not if you install it correctly and backup your old MPQ, which is a lot easier than it sounds.

Yep. You'd just need to drag a few files around on your computer when you want to switch, and I can explain all that to you in a PM since we can't talk about mods here =p

What I do is keep a folder for all of my diablo II related junk (mods, screenshots, et cetera) on my desktop, with each mod having a separate folder (for instance, Median has four different folders, one for each version I have downloaded). In each folder I've got a patch_d2.mpq and a patch_d2.mpq(BACKUP) of each incase I accidently overwrite one. I've also got a spare v1.11b patch_d2.mpq that I switch out when I want to play 'regular' diablo II.

So, I've been playing the mod and I'm really unimpressed. All the skills seem gimicky, the ai wasn't so much improved as changed to "EVERYONE CHARGE!" and from the little bit I've seen there's been a complete lack of balance.

it gets better.

I do agree that the skills are either very cliche (make a ring of fire) or completely in left field (some of the amazon skills). It gets great later on, though.

I just found out that my version of the MPQ is ~2 months old. Hopefully we'll still be able to play fine, but if not, we can always postpone to tomorrow when I can download the newest version.

If everyone could post a time schedule that is best for them, we'll see when the largest group of us can meet up. If we can only meet up in 2's three's etc, we can let each other know where we are and catch up or wait for others. However for end bosses or higher end challenges, we should be sure to have all included as we will need everyon'e help.

wo wtf made a weird paladin using a skill which is like a cross between blaze and firewall only better and much easier to stack. walked into the the underground passage lvl.2 looked inside and there was an entirly new layout looked a bit like the palace in act then suddenly blam some uberunique boss runs along and crackapows me this guy was immune to at least 6 things i'm sure he looked a bit like izzy i think and killed me in 1 hit and i've gone pure vitality atm at lvl.10. i didn't have the heart to run thru the game again and get 2 the wp so i'll just steal it of one of u guys if thats ok.

i'm on at random points in the day/night whenever really
7-9pm for u is about 1-3am for me in the UK i believe, not to sure though any time after 1 and i'll definely be here don't usually stay up past 4 but i can make the exception if i have to.

ithink that guy i found was one of the uberquests on second thoughts cor-blimey the look deadly.

That's the game's hardest uber challange, it's meant for pimped out chars 12x your level. I looked it up right after running my zon straight into him and getting ezpk'd :/

So, I think I judged the game a little quickly. Once I got past the first little bit I became quite addicted. My zon is currently level 25 and about to head into act 3 with her leet eq.

I'm absolutely loving barrage for my bowazon. 6 arrows per level = win.

Also, I never did find another 2os bow but I did find a level 2 3os bow with 15% sup. I made this

For anyone that can't read it (screw editing to make it readable!) I rolled a 51/13/13 on a 15% base giving me 66% ed for a total damage of 66-129 at level 33.

We were on USEast, so you probably wouldn't be able to reach us.

Anyway - it turns out that my MPQ is obsolete, so I'm going to download the newest version tonight (if you've never used dialup before, try it. It's so fun. Really.) and we'll meet again tomorrow in op Z_z at the same time (seven o'clock) on USEast.

I took my new sorc lvl 23 at the time and quested with notiigood from darkwoof up to the staff. My sorc lvl to 26 and has the ammy as well.
