View Full Version : Need a Martel for a Soj (not a trade thread)
This isn't a trade offer although if anyone does want to trade by all means contact me..
Anyway to the point. I was just NM mephi running and was close to quiting for the time being when I do one run and Mephi drops a unique ring. Being in nm I was most certainly not expecting a soj. But I guess it was just my lucky day :)
This is my first character on Europe Ladder (mf barb) only level 65 atm but this has turned out to be a great way to boost myself up the ladder food chain and really get started.
Atm my barb is using just a bonesnap which is great for the most part but in hell it starts to lose its edge. So having this newly aquired soj i thought what would be better than to buy a nice martel with my lucky find.

So after all that bullsh*t above :P I guess my question is basically - with a Soj on Europe Ladder what sort of martel can I expect to buy?
260 dmg? what mods?
Just want to make sure I do a good deal.
i got a 258 mart 27 life and - 30 req socked pa for soj
I hate to pay soj 4 anything less than 180 ed even if the item has insane mods. (Naturally some r too nice to pass). In your case u r not looking 4 -req cause u r mf/gf barb and aim for 250 str anyway (or close), so no reason to pay extra 4 that. U most certainly want leech on it and to be honest u need/want tri dura (not a must but very handy).
So aim for 27x with nice mods. No reason to take lower dmg mart just add some nice rare to your soj if needed and u get a martel on your mf/gf barb that does not need an upgrade...
When u first make game like O Sojadd N martel, type *afk leave offer* to the game description and then let others make their proposals to u. So u can check what people r willing to offer. Usually easier to get good deals that way than to make hasty bargains with the first one who happens to show up...

on east softcore classic ladder, at least, one would assume that sojs have lost value due to everybody and/or their brother knowing someone that can/will "wonky socket" an item.
that being said, it just seems that people are simply not doing much trading of the following items: weapons at the soj+ tier, amulets, and sojs themselves.
I have a +1 268 dmg, base leach, with a pskull socket mart on my barb, and I sure wouldn't let it go for a single soj.
I have no idea however, if this mentality applies to euro.

that's a pretty nice mart for a single soj. has me wondering about the variances in different realm economies. while in theory the 270-280 range marts were single soj marts in december/january on east, they sort of dried up

+2 29x, don't remember the full mods of it, and it's East Ladder
Thats the best legit? Last year I remember watching a legit 3xx +2 from trilouco like a month before I quitted D2(like around septemeber I think, when I joined the forum lol)
Never mind those uber martels Pugz. Your trade was nice and pretty close to what one could get with soj. Sweet mods tri dura and all. Gratz!

That mart in my book is 1 soj (europe) and maybe some semi nice rare that i would not use anyway. Because there really is 'wonky socketing' readily available, the socket in your mart would not increase its value very much, attleast not to 2 sojs anyway. Thought, when i browse your posts here on forums, it is my belief that u are a legit player and u have burned a legit soj to socket it -> naturally u would not accept 1 soj 4 it.
Maybe there are more deacent marts and other weapons available in europe, therefore making it hard to compare prices between realms and modes...

very much agreed. I was online when he glitched it. I thought perhaps someone had broken into his room, and was in the process of raping him - but then I couldn't figure out how on earth he'd still be able to type "OMGOMGOMG" over and over and/or variations of that without using the arrow/spam method...
while I love my +2, 30/20 priz, spiked lr stack -req din shield, in terms of value it doesn't compare to his mart - at all.

correct in your assumptions. I have had that mart since roughly December, and I overpaid to get the soj to get the xtra leach in it, so I could forgo the leachy ring I had been using, and double up on angellic rings. some might think it a mistake doing so, and in retrospect, not sure if I would have or not if to do again.
I guess I agree with the value assessment, of soj+ for the mart in general, except for the one problem, that to me, it's worth more for the simple fact that I'm not finding very many marts for trade these days, without multi-soj (3-4) askings or higher -
perhaps more importantly, I can afford to be pickier now, and demand someone perhaps overpay now that I have achieved quite a bit more "wealth" these days via mephy glitching, and lord CS kills compared to back when I was trying to just get to 92 so I could gamble godlies. (which mostly doesn't happen I discovered :laugh: )
