question bout Grand charms from baal/diablo

hope this is the right place to put this thread

i have a question about those charms which can be putted in ur cube + 3 pgems to get skillers + 4x life

must these charms be found at ONLY diablo / baal hell? or are the more places where they can be cubed? like grand charms from nihtalatik??

Only GCs from Diablo, Nihlathak or Baal can have the 41-45 life suffix. There's no other way to get them.

what about 30-40 suffix? they can be found and also made with those charms??

The 31-35 life affix has an alvl of 61, i.. it can occur in all of hell, while the 36-40 one has an alvl of 77 which is (more or less) hell act 2 Lost City and beyond and the high-level areas which are "out of sync", like the Pits.

Edit: I meant alvls, but regarding GCs, alvl=ilvl anyway (unlike with most other items !).

gc's has to drop from Baal, Diablo or Nihlatak himself. The suffix 41-45 +life can drop only from monsters with high enough level and only Baal, Diablo and Nihlatak are high enough.

The Chaos Sanctuary, WSK and ToD are all alvl85. GC's from there can't get the +41-45 life, but they can get +36-40 life. Certainly not as valuable, but they're definitely still worth rolling, imo.

hey i have an nother question bout this topic

i bought an grand charm from baal(it had 42 to life) for 2 mal didnt know if it was the right price but thats not the point

but i rolled it over 30-40 times now tho nothing happens i only got a skiller with combat skills for barbarian and 3 dex was it worth keeping? or should you roll such an charm till it hits a skiller with 41 to life or higher??

and whats the difference between suffix and prefix :P
im really confused by those words

Regarding the price, it depends on the realm you are on. In Europe, a Baal GC with the 41+ life affix on it as a proof costs about 2 Ist runes.

Nothing is wrong with that charm, You just have bad luck. You need an average of 21 rolls to get just any +skilltree affix BTW.

Of course, you stop rerolling it when you get a charm with is worth more than a Baal GC with proof or until it's of good use for yourself.

Item mods are divided into two divisions (and groups, but that's not an issue here), being called prefixes and suffixes. Magical items can have one prefix, one suffix or one of both, but not two of the same type. They are called like that because magical items get a name according to their affixes. Prefix: Something appears before the base item name. Suffix: behind it.

Example: a 3/18/19 SC is a "fine small charm of vita". "Fine" is the maxdmg/ar prefix while "vita" is the +life suffix.

Rare items can have up to 3 prefixes and up to 3 suffixes. Their names are generated differently, however.

Agreed Right Price you just have terrible luck most gcs with 30 life and a skill besides sin martial and skills people dont like are worth 10 hrs alot of the time.

k well than i had just badluck just having a skiler once barb combat skills with bad prefix

tho i was starting to get bit of hopeless since i bought 37 gems for gul and 33 for mal 35 for another mal and now all gems lost and my 3 runes gone too and none good rerolls means 5 mals total loss (since i bought the gc for 2 mal)

so i just have to get lucky and throw in another hr for 120 gems and hope for more luck :P

Here's a little more clarification, just in case you were interested.

The terms "prefix" and "suffix" are terms in English grammar. Usually, prefix refers to stuff like unkind and replay while suffix refers to stuff like kindness and playing.

When you're talking about charms, though, it's in reference to the mods. So, for example, a +1PComb/+45Life GC would be named a "Lion Branded Grand Charm of Vita". "Lion Branded" is the prefix and "Vita" is the suffix.
