Hey all, I have been LLDing alot lately and was semi interested in making an LLD video.

I heard about Frapps somewhere on this forum, Downloaded and used it while dueling in some games. The problem with this was computer went really slow, So very hard to duel (My computers fault) and It could only record for 30 seconds iirc. So i couldnt get all of the duels in.

Just wondering what people suggest to download? Free =]

Sorry for the off topic, But expect a Video from me possibly in the future.

PvP videos are overrated and trendy, plus you spelled software wrong. The only point in them is to show off to people, which is also overrated.

Not to show off, I actually enjoy making them and have fun watching my own...

It's always good to watch vids to pick up on others techniques or see new builds in action.

But OT, I think if FRAPS lags you, then other programs will as well. I made my two videos with the full version of FRAPS, and it lags you when you go out into the moors, making it stlightly harder to duel. Maybe just put up with it, or start recording before you start the duel, as I find that it lags most when it is first turned on, so get the lag spike over before the start :P

Full version of frapps costs $?

My main reason for making a video was just for something to do and show some builds i'm *working* on. (Which will probably be crap)

Perhaps if you use that video-tweaking tool in your Diablo 2 dir and set Diablo to '2d'.
Might save some frames.

I use Fraps to record some PvP (link in the sig).

Firstly, it records for only 30seconds unless you register it. Registering isn't expensive but iif you want to do a lot of vids then go for it.

I don't notice any slowdown but I always record to my second hard-drive. I know people who only have one drive and they do experience slow down.

I would suggest changing the options to to half size rather than full size that will make a big difference to file size. Most of the ones on my site are done at full size because I have the web/download space. Oh and one final word ... YouTube sucks for playback quality no matter what size you actually record at.

I use Virtual dub and Klite Codecs to redo the files in mpg4 and mp3 format; that makes the files MUCH smaller.

Cheers all for input.

Reason for me not paying is i have no way to pay over the net.

I'll try having it record to other harddrive. And changing d2 into d2

Thanks for the other recording tips to!

Personaly i dont use fraps, i use some long named one like "zd soft game recorder 1.5", it gives 60 seconds of recording on the free version. It has a nice lot of options u can play with to make it run just right (it runs better in full screen then window).

And so far its served me well, 1 lld vid done and a new one im working on right now :)

Btw can anyone refer me to a good host to upload the vid to, youtube is just lame for their quality.

I'll google that name, See what I can find. 1 minutes sounds alot better then 30 =]

Time to level some of the "Different" LLDers i have in mind.

(Can't wait to see a new vid from you =P)

Nice

Got Zd going, One question

Which codec do you use? I tried most of them, It said bla bla doesnt work. I found one that didnt say that, But when it would crash d2 -.-

Only way to get past the lag from usin fraps is to have a fast video card , i use the full paid version and since i have a decent video card the lag is not to bad.

After you record the videos you have to edit them to make them smaller with programs like Windows media movie maker.

And ps~ dont try to get a cracked full version of any of those video programs on limewire or somthin if you don't want any viruses.

Squiggle, Fraps saves in it's own format.

I load the saved files in vdub and use the mp4 video codec and the 128 mp3 codec from Klite convert and save as avi. If you go to my homepage, there's links at the bottom of the page to Klite, Fraps, Virtualdub and other stuff. I have found it makes the files much smaller than WMM, although it probably isn't as easy.

I don't know if it is possible but you could try recording to a usb stick. As I said, I just use a different hard drive.

My friend doesn't have viruses. *hint hint*

I've also heard from a number of people theat Mindows Movie Maker actually decreases movie quality. I have used Adobe Premier Movie Maker. It's good to have friends with $ (or limewire).
