I remember reading when I first made my account about having to play on an account or character for an amount of time or it would be deleted in the first few days and that you have to log in every x amount of days. Does anyone know what the numbers are?

an account will not expire for 90 days after you have played 2 hours (i think) for the first 24 hours. as for the character thats not so important because you can just log on to him once to prolong the expiration date or just change the date settings on your comp>.<

afaik ur char will not expire for 90 days after u played with him / her for 2 hours as long as the 10day expire msg is up.
as korialstraz said, u can delay the expiry thing simply by logging in and logging out every few days if u want to renew the expiry msg as long as u haven't played more than 2 hours.

Changing the date on your computer won't work....all your characters are stored on b.net's servers, and thus based on the server clocks/calendars. Good luck changing those....

That would be a fun prank though....to somehow set all of Blizzards server clocks back 120 days...then suddenly every character on b.net gets deleted.
April fools joke anyone?

But if someone plays a nasty april fools joke (which they can't) and sets back b.net's servers then getting a lvl 20 char to nm would indeed be pretty hard when everyone has to start from scratch. At least to begin with

Not much unlike a reset. Anyway I read somewhere here before that changing the time and date on your computer does change expiration date APPEARANCE, but the chars are indeed stored @ Bnet. So I don't think that'll shift the problems.

im sorry for not beeing very specific about the expiration date/date and all that. what i meant was that if your character says its expired but you can still play its because your date is wrong. i have testet this myself and have had others confirm this and it really works. try setting your date forward 4 month and all your chars should say its expired, though you can still play with them. i never tested this with characters that was actually expired from before. again sorry for making some confusions.

Yeah, but I was rather thinking the other way around. What if you set your date 4 months behind, maybe that takes away the expiration message by the time your chars actually are expired. That would absolutely give a problem.
