ubers... and HR

Ok so i recently got back into D2X, and i read about ubers all the time, so i tried to look it up and i found out that you need keys from summoner, countess and nihlatak... and if you have the 3 keys you can open 1 portal, and it's best to open 3 of them at the same time so you get all 3 different portals...
what i was wondering is is this all in hell difficulty (the retrieving of the keys and the portals)? or are there also ubers in normal and/or nightmare difficulty, and are there requirements to be able to get those keys? (finished baal at hell, lvl req) or something like that to get the keys, to open the portals etc

and then i also noticed people talking about 1 HR is a keyset etc, but what is HR? :) i couldn't really find that immediately...

Yes, all this takes place in Hell difficulty. The portals can only be opened in Act 5 Hell iirc. But I'm not sure if you have to actually finish Act 5, this is very well possible especially to reach the higher lvls for your char.
HR stands for High Rune, being Vex and up usually (depends on the person). Keysets go for Ists on EuScL though. You need 3 different Keys to open up a single portal (Key of Hate+ Key of Destruction + Key of Terror = keyset), that means you need 9 keys to open up all 3 different portals. Every portal can get you an organ (horn, eye, brain). These 3 organs transmuted grant you the final portal to Uber-tristram.

9 keys (3x3) goes for (a couple of) HR's. As does an organ-set, this all depends on realm. Though the eye-organ was recently glitched or something and is worth considerably less than the other 2 organs.

The keys are only available in Hell difficulty, and they will only open portals in Hell difficulty as well. There are no level requirements to get them, except to be able to survive the monsters that hold them (especially Nihlathak), and to do it quickly enough so that you don't die of old age before you collect a full set.

A HR is a High Rune, usually Mal - Zod, but depends on the realm and the current state of the (fluctuating) D2 economy.

i just want to warn you not to open the portal unless you know you got a char strong enough to take them on or know a friend that can help you and that wont steal organs or the torch. if your on europe ScL i could help you out if you want. and i wont take your torch either:wink:

i just started playing again and i'm not high lvl yet, and my gear is very VERY bad ;)

is there only a chance you will get an organ from the portal? or is it a sure drop?
