Max str on a ring with rlevel =<30?

Looking to get an fcr ring for my level 30 windy, wondering how much str it can have.

FCR has an alvl of 5 for rings and amus which is (for rings and amulets, not for all the other stuff !) equal to the ilvl needed.

And you'll want a low ilvl ring anyway, if you're hoping to get a lvl 30 craft.

The clvl of crafted items is equal to 10 + (3*ExtraAffixes) + ClvlOfHighestAffix

So, to begin with, the ring is going to need to have at most a clvl 17 req affix in order to be clvl 30 craft, and in this case it'd only have 1 additional affix. If there's 4 additional affixes then the highest clvl req will need to be 8. This doesn't leave alot of affixes open to your crafted ring. Fortunately, as Krischan has said above "of the apprentice" is alvl 5, clvl 3.

If you are hoping for 4 affixes, then the resulting craft will need to have an ilvl of at most 10. At this ilvl, you have a 13% chance of getting a crafted ring with the "of apprentice" suffix. The highest clvl req of such an amulet would at most be 29. The only strength suffix you have available to you is "of strength" (+1 to 2 strength). If you use the blood ring recipe, you can get an additional +1 to 5 strength (so a total of +7). Though, it sounds like you plan on using the caster craft instead.

No, the caster ring doesn't give any mods really worth using.
So, my ideal ring is +7 str +20 life 10fcr. Too bad it couldn't have been 8 str, oh well.

Your ideal rare looks a LOT better tho. You can have
30/30/30 (three single resists)
9 str (IIRC)
10FCR
and then another suffix of your choosing.

Unless the suffix "of the Wolf" can spawn under level 30, the blood ring wins for my windy.

The "of the wolf" suffix has an alvl of 34 and clvl of 26, so it will result in a rare ring of less than clvl 30. You wouldn't be able to get it for your crafted ring of less than clvl 30 though.
