hi. im new to this forum:wave: (even though i have been reading it for some time. anyway i have a little problem that maybe you friendly guys here could answer. i was wondering which gc, lc and sc charms that should be saved for re-rolling and what are some mods to look for.
i know about the all res, single res and life, but im not sure about the frw and fhr. also what are some good charms for a lvl 15 player that will need life, fhr, some frw and res?
also congratulations with a great forum for both unexperienced and experienced players:jig:

Welcome to the forums.
*steals pants and wallet*
Good charms to roll are ones dropped by Hell Baal, Nihlathak, and Diablo. They can potentially get the valuable 41-45 life mod.

First, it's worth noting that the only charms people typically reroll are GCs from Diablo, Baal, or Nihl. SCs are not usually worth the effort to reroll for particular mods but if you chose to do so, I would stick with high ilvl ones just like the GCs.
For GCs, high life skillers, skillers with 12% fhr, and many plain skillers are worth keeping. 12%FHR/15All res makes a nice GC and high Max/AR GCs are nice to keep as well (not sure on exact numbers for that last one)
As for scs, you are looking for mods such as 5%fhr, 11%single resist, 7%mf, 50+psn damage, 5 all resist, +2 strength/dex, +3max/xxAR, and 20 lifers to name some of the most popular mods. While some of these are worth a good amount on their own (5 all resist and 20 lifers for example) the REALLY nice keepers have combinations. For example, a +2st/11LR sc or a 5%fhr/100 psn damage sc is very nice and a +3max/20AR/20life sc is amazingly godly. If it has several mods that are good it doesn't necessarily have to be perfect. I have a +2max/15+AR/20 life sc that I think is great.
Hope that helps.

thanks for the answer from both of you. one thing i may not have been too specific about is from where (in game, difficulty lvl) should i start rerolling the charms. i dont need all those really godly charms, but a few plain skillers and some all res and life sc would be great. i heard something about great marsh or something on nightmare is a great place for plain skillers. is this correct. also can the gc from act1-5 hell be rolled into skillers? sorry if this is common knowledge, but i never cared much for rolling charms. also must i use a specific gem for rolling (like pruby) or can any work? could i use skulls? since the p gems i get usually go to trading or whatever else i may need them for.

You need a GC with ilvl >=50 for it to possibly become a skiller. Once you've passed Nightmare Act 2 Spider Forest, any GC you find can be rerolled into a skiller. I normally don't roll charms unless they have ilvl >= 77 so I have the chance of up to 40 life.
The recipe for rerolling GCs (and any magic items) is 3 perfect gems of any type (skulls count as gems) + magic item => new magic item of same ilvl.
If there are specific small charmsyou're looking for, I recommend playing with the affix calculator (http://www.diabloii.nu/affixcalc) to find the ilvl charm you should be rolling. Ilvl 61 seems to be pretty popular.
So how do you find the ilvl of your charms? For items dropped from monsters, ilvl = mlvl. For monsters in nightmare and hell, normal monster mlvl = area_level (http://strategy.diabloii.net/news.php?id=551#Area%20Levels). Champs have mlvl = area_level+2. Uniques and minions have mlvl = area_lvel+3.
nm a3 marsh is where gc skillers can start droping
any gc beyond there can be rolled into a skiller
if your looking to make a profit, use a gc from diablo, nihlathak or baal
they can get the vita mod with 41-45life
any 3 pgem including pskulls can be used to reroll it
Once you've passed Nightmare Act 2 Spider Forest, any GC you find can be rerolled into a skiller.
You know, I've played for years and never been there.:badteeth:

sooo. i need a gc of lvl 77 or greater for it to become a skiller with chance if having the 40 life suffix. for plain skillers the great marsh or flayer jungle in nm has highest possible chance of becoming a skiller when re-rolled?
for geting those lvl 77 or greater charms, wouldnt tal rashas tomb be a great place for getting those gc? lvl 80 area and lots of monsters

Do note that the chance to get a skiller at ilvl 50 (1/22) isn't much better than at ilvl 99 (1/23).

note taken. btw you do have a better chance at getting a gc from a lvl77 area than from baal:tongue:
anyway whats the Ilvl of a gc dropped in matrons den/furnace of pain/forgotten sands? just curious because i just found 2 gc from those places
