View Full Version : Iron maiden counter??? :(
As a lvl 80 zealer I'm having a pretty succesful run through HELL difficulty.....that is until I get to Chaos Sanc.:hanky:
Diablo is actually pretty easy....its getting to him that is tough. Honstly the only way I made it through was that a lvl 95 sorc came through and "plowed" through all the death knights launching curses at me....
I have tried switching to a widowmaker bow and tried to attack from afar but the bow just isn't strong enough in HELL.....
Anyone know a good counter?????????
fade from prebuff treachery.
lifetap wand
or vengance which i believe does monst elemental dmg
 Wrong thread I think SicHalo...
I wrote a guide for weapons for use when Iron Maidened. The best choices are Ethereal Demon's Arch and Gimmershred. Both are one-handed throwing weapons so you can continue to use a shield.
Some people recommend a point in Cleansing to get rid of the curse faster... but I reckon it's a waste of a point since a TP back to town would be faster anyway.

Life tap won't really save you either...since IM deals more than 2x damage back onto you...and life tap only heals you 50% of the damage dealt...
As a side note...which is calculated first, the IM damage, or the Life Tap heal? and if IM is calculated first, does it just kill you as soon as you're life is down to zero, or does it finish all the current calculations and then make a final tally for remaining life?

IM doesn't return more than 2x damage back to you. IM returns 106% of the damage you deal, so if you deal 100 damage, you'll take 106 in return.
To answer your question, damage is applied first, then leech/lifetap heals you, so you could have a billion percent life leech and it wouldn't matter if you just kill yourself in one hit, anyway.
