Hooray first post. So my question is what duo of characters makes the best team for dueling? Does it have a paladin for auras or a necro for curses? Thanks for the info.

It has a barb for warcries and whatever the other person happens to be good on, there is no one pair that beats all.

after watching a lvl 91 healer convert a couple of venom lords, then heal them to tank, I got to thinking how cool it would be if you could convert say 30 venom lords, and/or oblivion's and take them back to rogue with ya' to duel...

Then just run around behind the meat shield, healing them, and/or repping one's own life :D

It would, if nothing else, be amusing to watch

It's a shame conversion only durates 16seconds. :(
Conversion/thorns works well solo, but you would need some patience.

16 seconds... longer than most duels these days :p

couple of mages casting lower rez, and a conviction aura infector and his hoard would be neat to have on "your side" in a duel

flash holy freeze at your opponent to slow 'em down via the "healer's aura" as it seems most healers have it to slow down fana seis and his hoard of rat terriers...

obviously this is only relegated to the realm of "what if"

regardless, as Steve (Zodi) above mentioned there is no universal "best" team of two

But I don't think converted monsters follow you, let alone come with you through wp's etc. But what you are talking about is kinda possible with revives...revive some mages and such, those big blunderbore type monsters are great as well, as they have cb.

But OT, I reckon a WW barb with battle orders/command, and the option of max block teamed up with a hammerdin. The pally gets insane life/mana and the barb gets max concentration or a resist aura.

I convert quite a lot of monsters with my healer pala and indeed they do not come with you. They are just friendly to you and will attack your enemies. If there is no enemy near, they just stand around.

If you want to bring some fun to a duel, why not have a necro revive some cows. Those at least last for 180 seconds and could have quite a lot of hitpoints depending on the nec's level of minion mastery. :)

As for the duelduo, like Zodi typed, it depends on what flavor the 2 halves of the duo are good at. A barb with warcries would certainly be an major asset.

meh, I guess I assumed converted monsters were like a necro's minions.

the healer I was referring to only used them to make a meatsheild whilst waiting for the rest of the party to hit the tp

and yes, I knew that minions of any sort do not make it from one act, to another. whether they be merc's hired, revives, or summons

Note that a side-effect, or perhaps a intended effect, of Conversion is that quite a few enemies outside CS end up at 1 hp after they revert back to their hostile state.
So a holy fire/freeze/shock aura or a smite could kill them.
For some reason, this does not happen to the Venom Lords in CS though. perhaps the type 'Monster' is immune to this effect.
