Anybody have any experience in growing onions from seeds? The onions I left in the ground last year have bloomed and I'm thinking I'll harvest the seeds for next year.
I don't even know where the seeds come from. I just vaguely remember pressing them into the ground out of the packet, watering occasionally and then pulling them up months later.

psst... onion seeds? They come from onions. :wink3:
Why don't you just chuck some onions in the ground again?

I mean what part of the onion.

Smeg: Take a look at links like these:

As the last one says, "Growing onions from seed may be the most difficult planting method. However, it is the least expensive."

Leeks for the win. They look cooler and taste better.
Plus, leeks have this. (http://www.leekspin.com/)
Oh my lord, the disease has finally spread to these forums. Thanks a lot KOW.

That was posted here like 2 years ago.
Someone had it as an avatar as I recall. Was it Q?
God, no. Spinning leeks isn't my thing.
