The Imbue Question

well...im a long time exp player, but i decided to go back to classic i missed the old times everything so much simpler...anyway just have a question about imbuing, help from any1 is appriated.
-I want to make very good armor with life,high def, perhaps good res or str anything, juss good armor.

Question: how can i make the armor good from imbue quest, 1)is it always random?, 2)does it depend on level?, 3)does it matter if ppl in the game, 4)or does it not depend on anything at all, 5)also does this work with wepons ex. battle hammer?

Ironically quite a few of the guides I wrote, including this one, were because I was sick of people posting the same questions every week. And questions are still frequently asked because people can't read the stickies.

as stampu said, really depends on who is going to use it. mage or ornate are probably the best options though. something lighter if its for a sorc.
