Grief Smite damage question

My 1 pt smiter has 20 in FAN and HOS. I finally get a Grief axe. How come my smite damage remain the same doesn't matter that I use the Grief axe or other weapon. I thoug Grief would add more damage to smite. Am I wrong?

it does add dmg, its just doesn't show on your screen. A weapon only add's dmg to smite if its +XX to dmg, which is the case with grief, as it is with astreon's, ... it just doesn't show it:)
