I was checking my mules, and then left for just a few minutes (as to avoid temp ban). I came back and i was logged out with some cd key message, something I think about it being in use, but I don't remember exactly what it said. I hit ok and was able to log in normally. Is this anything to be worried about, or is it just a fluke?
Probably nothing to worry about.
Sometimes when you exit D2 incompletely or it crashes, a process is still running keeping it connected to BNet. Look for game.exe or diabloii.exe in your task manager and kill the process if needed.
Other times, especially after connection interruption, you can leave BNet, but it thinks you're still logged in for whatever reason. This should clear itself up after five minutes or so.
Of course, what we all fear is that someone has stolen your CD key and is using, though that is highly unlikely (unless you did something stupid like post it online).

if you log out quickly and log back on, bnet thinks that you are still using your cd key. So you would get a message like "This CD-Key is surrently being used by JOHN SMITH" or something similar. Nothing to worry about. It's just a fluke.

as long as you can still get in who cares:grin:
i just had connection interrupted while doing a baalrun, and since that moment i can't log in because i'm getting the message that my cd key is already in use and i should wait 5 minutes, but it's probably been closer to 30 minutes now and it's still in use... and i can't imagine anyone stealing my cd-key...
exit out of d2 and check your task manager, look for game.exe or diabloii.exe on the list and end them, or restart your computer
sometimes when d2 crashes it leaves the part running that is logged into bnet
