As many of you know, I've been playing classic for a long time, and I've made a lot of chars. I don't really play classic anymore, but I still want more players to be able to succeed in classic. Because of this, I'm going to start writing/rewriting some character guides for characters I've built to help others out.
Vote on which ones you'd like to see, and I'll start sharing them. Listed with the builds are some of the notable characters I've made (some have been deleted/remade, some are as far ago as 1.10a, any before then are irrelevent to builds now)
Blizzard Sorceress (PvM+PvP) - Zodijackyl(92), UM-Stormgod, UM-Euronymous
The best all around build
Fireball Sorceress (PvP) - UM-GodKiller(89), UM-EnterChaos, UM-NapalmDeath
Godly SvA and SvS, not as amazing PvM
Orb Sorceress (PvM) - UM-Zodijackyl(87), UM-FreezingMoon, UM-ForeverBlind
Orb/TS, Orb/ES, Straight up Orber. No I will not post my SvS build here.
Nova Sorceress (PvM) - UM-Burzum(EuHCL)
This build is for a non-title character, it is completely useless past normal.
CS/Fury Amazon (PvM/PvP) - UM-Fury, UM-Yngwie
Though none of my zons are extremely high level, it's the same build as UM-GhostRider(90) used.
GA/MS Bow Amazon (PvM/PvP) - UM-BlackArrows, EZ_PK
This build is pretty much useless now, but it can be fun to screw around with.
Bone Necromancer (PvP) - UM-Bolverk, UM-Mortician, UM-AUTOPSY
I use the build of FinalFear, the necromancer legend. FinalFear-UoD(93), AX-FinalFear(92)[#1nec LS1], FinalFearII-WS(91), FinalFear-WS. Some secrets will be left out of this of course.
Exploder Necromancer (PvM) - UM-Necrolust(90/84 EuHCL s2+s3), UM-EvilDead
Fun build, also a good team supporter.
Hammerdin (PvM/PvP) - UM-GetOnTop(90), UM-mOrbiDanGeL(83hc)
This is a very simple build, I'll be disappointed if you people don't know how to make one. RIP the original UM-mOrbiDanGeL, expired when he went to play Runescape, so I took my name back :tongue:
FOH Paladin (PvP) - UM-Moloch, UM-EleventhHour
Simple build, the secondary is what defines it. Secondaries I can explain:
-FOH/Smite
-FOH/Healer
-FOH/Charge
-FOH/Auradin
Charge Paladin (PvP) - WHOMP (I miss this name)
Fun but almost completely useless
MF/GF Barbarian (PvM) - DamageDone (90), Insineratehymn (87), UM-Deathcrush(86)(the original NL one), Damage-Done(85), Murderer-bfd(85), OnlyNOOBZmf(85), UM-LEGION(82), UM-Deathcrush(80EuHCL), EAST(80USWest)
This is a build to rely on and to build off of, as I have done for a very long time (as you can see). There are three ways, MF, GF, and MF/GF. I suppose I'll have to write all of them. I didn't even list all of the ones I've done, but I've used it on three realms, three ladder seasons, SC and HC.
The Leapopper (PvM)
The legendary PvM build for MFing in CS runs. This build is amazing and I have never seen another one. This is one of the unique builds that will spread all over as soon as I explain it.
BvS Barbarian (PvP) - UM-DemonSeed(86), UeZ
Simpler build but its fun.
BvA Barbarian (PvP) - UM-Emperor, Tyrant-Goat, Deathcrush
Much better team dueler than the BvS, with shout for your team. Don't use it to solo.
Leaper Barbarian (PvP) - UM-MSD
Team dueler, obnoxious and annoying, which is why my brother made one to be a jerk. Works well with a hammerdin, nec, sorc, or all of them.
BvB Barbarian - SotL(95), UM-Deathcrush(91), UM-IronSkin(90), XeN_FishStickz(88), RedRum(87), bigassmufuka(85)
SotL was pre-LoD era, but that's part of the legacy. UM-Deathcrush was undefeated LS3 (retired now, but may be making a comeback in a private league), XeN_FishStickz was the culmination of many BvBs made by Xen, undefeated being played by myself and him for nearly five years, now stripped and retired as he joined the army. I could list a dozen 90+ barbs that were built with my assistance. I will never post my BvB build. It took years to figure out the precise build and how to perfect one build, and each in succession has been a reflection of precision and perfection. You can't clone a godly BvB because even a small difference in item requires change. I will however post a lot of advice on BvBs and consider opening the old UMD2 Brotherhood of BvB to some new members (a lot of the old private BvB was THE BROTHERHOOD *pause for applause*). I'll stop being an elitist jerk about this now.

Well that's your top one then, I like that build a lot too so there's a good chance I'll make a full guide. That's just a bit of a guide, not a full one. These will be full character guides with everything you will need to know.
TheBrotherhood I remember most clearly, was some pals of yours about 4 years ago running around with insane lld/mld chargers when I was more of a noob than I am now.
Pretty sure it was Art that sat my level 83 2-hander exe barb to my then complete bafflement, with a mld charger... have to say, the litany of nearly scriptural taunts he used was a nice touch as well... :D

We killed quite a few level 90+ with a team of 2-3. My level 35 BvB also beat dozens of level 70-80+ barbs using twitch+sback. Never even touched by an LLD BvB. And when we had a few people bring their high levels to try to bring us down (a certain fanclub) we had our high levels to back it up. My BvB + Arts nec destroyed a certain team of 3 barbs, two hammerdins, and a sorc. That was entertaining. The taunts were planned to annoy the hell out of people too.
I wouldn't mind seeing this "leapopper" build and also your blizz sorc and the explosion necro : )

1. BvB barbarian. will probably never get the time/stuff to make one but I'd like to know your thoughts on them...
2. FoH paladin, like to know how foh hybrids go in classic...and how to make them good.
3. Probably the blizz sorc...might make one for lld.

FoH hybrids are very difficult in classic, but they can be done. Any BvB guide I do will of course be expensive, but who didn't know that? :wave:
As far as an LLD blizz sorc, I wouldn't recommend it, fire is much more effective for LLD. It is however the most versatile high level char.

In my opinion MF Barbs come in a couple of flavors. Pure poppers, and those that prefer to solo MF/pop. Guess in part it depends on whether you intend to chase the hoards in a cs, or kill for your xp and drops.
the basic killing build has been published a couple of times, with some variations.
angellic ammy
angellic armor
two angellic rings (or 1, and the other leach/AR/Rez/MF)
PTarn, OR tri topazed hat
dual leach gloves, with dual rez, and/or MF.
Belt - I prefer fhr, life/rez - many use gwrap
Boots, fhr/frw rez, mf.
weapon. Mart. Prefer base leach, with pskull.
my lvl 88 mf baba has 240 str, the rest in vita. with his BO gear on, and lvl 29 BO he has roughly 3k life whilst wearing angellics (life bonus in the mix somewhere)
with the +1 pskull+base leach 268 dmg mart he has, he can easily lay waste to travincal in a full game, and only has minor issues if there's a mana burner.
I need to level him, as he's now 1/2 way to 89, and I've never really solo MF'ed a cs with him like Zaxien always recomended. I'd hate to do that now, and lose all that xp to IM... so many somewhat interesting projects, so little time... :laugh: (the lvl 88 blizzer is also 1/2 to 89, and the remade din, lord is 1/2 way to 88 whilst the mephy glitcher is 1/3 to 86)

And that basic MF barb guide has been posted by many people many times, I'm going to go into a lot of detail on MF and/or GF barbs, not just the basics. That barb setup has gotten a lot of people to where they are though.

Didn't list them in decending order as I can't decide which build I like the most. But if my picks are too many just start with the #1.

I would like to hear about the pure orb sorc guide. Too many time people switch to blizz for the additional damage but orb has always been my favorite

The bone nec build I will share is actually quite different than the PvP necs I have always seen. Of course it will require massive resources, but it really isn't hard to get rich.
Looks like the leapopper will be the first to be written next week. It's a fairly simple but unconventional build.

I was kind of hoping people wouldn't vote for this one because I don't like classic Javazons but I like them on LoD, plus I've only done a 65ish HC one since 1.10a because they're boring. I may enlist UMdonut's assistance on this one.

It's a fun build. I sometimes wonder why people will level an MF barb to 90+ and have maxed shout so they can BO cs runs, and not even have a weapon to solo MF. Those people are who the leapopper is for.

I would like to see any type of PvP bowazon build. I was going to make one until I read that you thought they were only fun to play around with anymore. So if it is at all possible that's my vote. thank you
Bvb, if u include the finer points of your builds. But, since u allready said, that u won't, then its pretty pointless to make a guide (since everything is not explained).
Most people can not duplicate your build(s) cause many of them need rather fancy items to work. (Especially the expensive bvb builds...) And those that can, could then offer better duels for you to prove, that skill plays a big part of bvb. Not just the skill to build a char.
So my vote is for the bvb, if you include details. Its an old game, so maybe its time for you to pass your knowledge and let others enjoy the spoils of your dedication to the bvb.

But I would like to see a GA PvP Zon as i'm in the process of making one (lvl 38) and all I hear on the realms are "Bowazon?!?! NEWWWBB!!" I used to play a few years ago but was dragged back for another fix...

That's why i vote for the leapopper, which u say is a new unknown hybrid or what not. I welcome all new types of builds that are fun to use.
A build that i think is fun is the ice bowadin.
max ice aura and cold resist aura. Throw on a wizendraw bow and go go go.

Sorry but I'm only writing guides for builds that don't suck. Bowadins are trash, regardless of how much newbies tell me they love them in normal, they are not hell-viable chars that will get you far. The only char that isn't extremely viable is the Bowazon, because they're more for nostalgia and fun because they used to be good, they can still beat normal/nightmare duels, but they can't measure up to good PvP builds.
The leapopper guide is written, awaiting a proofreading from a friend I sent it to.

I'm all for versatile characters, but I don't like ones that don't work. Bowadins don't work. As far as the "interesting" duelers, pretty much all of them I've seen just die one hit :sad2:

Do you have any strange chars dreamed up you havent made yet?
btw...can vengeance be used with a bow? i would highly doubt it...but the thought of a paladin with a cold aura, socketed topaz bow, and chant using vengeance has always made me laff. truely a creative garbage char to stir things up.

Vengeance is not worth using, so I wouldn't know.

yea, i never have, thats why i asked. I figured you had at used it once down the line being a "veteran". But, most garbage builds of mine only go as far as being made in my head, leveling is too much a chore for a char I'd only use once then delete.
Anyways, cant wait for leapopper guide.

Vengeance does not work with ranged attacks.
You could use a bow with any of the three elemental aura's(holy fire/freeze/shock), but I vaguely recall the elemental damage you do gets halved when going ranged.

Bowazons are hardly worth the effort though, there aren't enough good bows out there on ladder to make them worthwhile, and NL PvP is too full of idiots to bother with it.
I was just thinking if it would be possible for you to write up a short guide on the bone nec before next ladder begins :azn:
Would be superb as I've already planned to make one by then.

Corpse Explosion Necro guide will probably come this weekend, otherwise I'm not going to be writing any guides for a while. The PvP Bone Nec guide is being withheld by the request of a few old UM- members.

As long as you have the PVP Bone nec guide safe somewhere so you may be able to share it with us in the future when you get the ok from the lads/gals.
Cause it would be a shame if that knowledge sinks to the back of your head and perhaps even gets lost in all that LoD know-how. :)

Chances are if the Necromancer guide and knowledge is ever put out there, it won't be by me, I don't intend to play for too long after the reset, and of course it is with several of my friends.
I'll try to find some time this weekend to write up an exploder guide for the start of the ladder, but I have many many items to trade off, and that will take up a large portion of the time I'm online.
