Hi.

I was just reading myself up on the rerolling of grand charms, and I see that Blizzard have listet Grand Charms of Vita with +46-50 life requires an ilevel of 110.

Someone (http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=403178) said that getting an ilvl 110 on a grand charm is impossible.

However, I have 2 questions concerning this.
The DClone is level 110, right? And I have read on ATMA that he is the best source for dropping the SOJ. The three times I have met him, he didn't drop anything but the annihilus, but I suppose he can drop other stuff sometimes?

The other is a cube recipy. The version on battle.net is only for rare:
1 Perfect Skull + 1 Rare Item + Stone of Jordan = 1 High Quality New Rare Item of the same type
This formula has the possibility of creating a higher quality Rare Item than the following formula. ilvl = int(.66 * clvl) + int(.66 * ilvl) That is, the ilvl will be equal to .66 times your clvl (rounded down) plus .66 times the input item's ilvl (also rounded down).

Which basically means that if you are level 90, and you have an item with ilvl 90, you get a theoretical level 118 - which gives you more than enough for a grand charm with ilvl 110.

Why have Blizzard listed the ilvl 110 if it is unatainable? There must be a way. :)
I only know about the cube recipies that are listed on battle.net. Are there more?

1) DClone can only drop the annihilus. Other drop chances for him are invalid. It's a known issue in ATMA.

2) The High quality rare recipe theoretically looks like it could create an item with ilvl 110, but first, there are no rare charms, and second, ilvl is capped at 99 before affixes are selected.

3) Like nearly any software project, there is dead unreachable code in Diablo II. By the way Diablo II is set up, it's impossible for the 46-50 life suffix to ever be selected. It happens. Also, Arreat Summit is tended to by essentially a monkey, so the existence of something there doesn't mean much. Remember when a firestorm was set off when AS changed grief's +damage to +%enhanced damage?

Well, I suppose you wrapped this topic up nicely...

...and crushed all my dreams and hopes.

Edit: And I did a meek query for a recipy like that the
one I mentioned, only for magic items. Forgot to write
it fully.

46-50 life grand charms would be possible if the ubers or DC could drop grand charms

They still can't drop then. The algorithm for calculating max Alvl on an item caps it to 99 at the end. The "of Vita" suffix with 46-50 life has Alvl 110.

In classic I believe the clone does drop items, but I guess no charm :sad2:

Nearly a year ago there was someone selling a +50 Life GC over at ETF, I don't remember if it turned out he had misread it or it actually dropped due to a game glitch... However if it actually did drop I doubt it could be rerolled and still get teh affix.

@ Blizz: I'm impressed how much sense that makes.

I swear. The first time he spawned for me in classic was a few days into the "world event". I braved him with my level 65 conc barb to no avail. I called in help from the pub channel. We ended up with a full game. One guy had his necro just collecting gold for pots and throwing them on the ground for us. Eventually I switched to my sorc and with the help of some brave barb+zealer and my static, we managed to kill him eventually. It took us about 2 hours.

That's when I first found out that he drops nothing. :banghead:
