Hey guys, some of you may remember me from .9 ( deaths-reveng) was in D_A

Ink and voice and marius or zeph will remember me if any of them still play

after playing WoW for 2 and a half years and starting college in chicago in the fall ( woot woot ) I want to get back into this game and duel as a wolfy again! ( man it's been so long )

however I'm having some trouble installing diablo 2: exp

I bought a new laptop that I'm using that has windows vista on it, and im assuming that is causing the problem here.

I have plenty of ram ( 958MB ) and harddrive space (120GB ) to run d2 smoothly, however in the middle of installign the expansion it wont read the expansion disk for some reason.

can anyone give me any advice? I'm thinking about having my friend come over later and take off vista and put on xp pro instead.

Xp pro < Vista

I will not give you any reasons, it's just destiney.

However there should be a thread about Vista problems with diablo.
Try searching. >> Nah. Found it

IF you want eye candey go for linux or something ( which /ownz vista, not in my opinion - but - in reality - beats that poor vista onto the wall.

and to clear up the idea that it may be my disks that are the problem.. not true, just installed it fine on my old computer however i won't be using this computer anymore so i cant just play it on this one.

I used to have installation issues, too. It kept telling me that a spesific file was corrupt or could not be reached.. or I would have issues with patching. I got around it all, though, by visiting the site of Battlenet. The last time I checked, they have files just for this kind of problems that you can d/l from the site, not needing the CD's.
Hopefully that helps o_O

You're better off with XP anyways. Vista is still WAY to glitchy for market use.
