I'm looking to start rolling Small charms since they can come out with a lot of desirable mods that people will pay for and also since I have really bad luck rolling gcs.
First I'd like to know what scs I should hunt for, from what area and such, to get any and all of these mods
Fine +1-3max/10-20 Ar
of Vita +16-20 life
Scintillating 3-5 all resist
Steel or Iron- AR
of Balance 5 fhr
Good Luck 6-7 mf
Single Resist up to 11%
I think I check this a while ago and found that the Jail was the best place to pick up Scs with all those mods possible, but none of the ones in ilvls above them.

I always forget the base qlvl of SCs (28 ?), so I cannot tell you which ilvl they need have to get the "iron" prefix, the highest of those you mentioned (alvl 57). The next highest are "vita" and "good luck" (alvl 47). SCs with the "iron" affix might require hell mode while the others can be found in late nightmare.

IMO it's not worth using the 3 pgem recipe to get SCs with these affixes because you will find more SCs than 3x3 sets of flawless gems.

This Affix calculator (http://www.diabloii.nu/affixcalc/) will tell you which ilvl should the item have for the desired affix.

I would like to sign Krischan's opinion about rolling SCs, at least roll Baal SCs which can spawn with insane elemental/poison damage and could be paid quite well ...

Those Scs are fetching a pretty penny and I have more use for them than for Grand charms. Either LLDers or Melee characters use the ones I'm most interested in. Not wanting to get elemental damage Scs so baal scs are not gonna happen. If I find out where to get Scs that get just those mods, then I can roll and limit myself so I don't get extra mods I don't need. Just getting only one of the mods is enough to pay out for me. 5 all resist? 20 life? both of those are fairly useful and can fetch up to a hr apiece.
I know of that Affix Calculator, I just need to know where I should hunt for scs with that highest suffix (Steel).

Lvl 71 areas would be your best bet.

EDIT: However, I still think you should get a baal charm for rerolling, and just find those charms instead. So easy to kill a lot of lvl 71 monsters, and you'll find a lot more scs than sets of 9 flawless to make 3 perfect to reroll.

Add my vote to the 'if rolling small charms, make it Baal or nothing' crew. Large charms probably aren't worth rolling, even Baals considering they come with some nice mods. Grands should be at least high enough for skillers (found almost anywhere in act three nightmare and from certain bosses before then), but roll all the Baal grands you have first - even trade for them before rolling lower ones. It's not worth the gems until then, and then only until you get a hold of another Baal charm.

Regarding Baal GCs, I reroll them until I get one worth keeping or a 41+ life one. The latter makes it a Baal GC with proof which can be sold easily. I don't keep those from Nihlathak, they are hard to distinguish from those dropped by him minions.

IMO rerolling Basal SCs is not worth it. Only the very highest elemental affixes need these high ilvls and they aren't particularly useful IMO and exceedingly hard to roll up as well. A certain number of pgems cost more than the average number and quality of Baal SCs produced by the same amount of pgems.

It's probably the same with respect to Baal GCs, but to a lesser extent and I'm too lazy to mule gems and Baal GCs. You have to do something with your finds.

I've been rolling the same baal gc for a month. Not one skiller and I pick up all flawless gems I can get to. Rolling baal scs I've rolled a 20 life sc within 3 rolls. I can actually use this....as well as most any of the scs mentioned in my first post.
