View Full Version : Need Help with Fire Claw

I've always been wondering about this, but never bothered asking. Finally, the curiosity overwhelms me, so here I go.

Is it just me or does Fire Claw seem to hit once every 6 attack or so? Why? Is it an issue with AR, or otherwise?

Thanks for any helps.

Sadly it's probably just lack of AR, I've never had this 1 in 6 hit singularity you've described. My only suggestion would be to boost your AR and see if that makes a noticeable difference.

it's either their defense is too high..so an ar problem, or the're blocking...or a combination of both.

i can't really see why else....are you namelocking and actually going up to hit them?

if you're shift+clicking, that might be a problem if they are not in range though they might look like they are...

either due to bad ar, defense of your opponent being too high or blocking.

Mmm, I have about 14,500 AR give or take on me tubby druid.

Did a little experiment, then soon recognized the power of max block. It seems like Fire Claw doesn't put people into block/dodge animation. Shame.

blocklock has been changed with the inception of the newest patch. there is a cooldown timer on blocking. i forget the specifics, but it's somewhere in these threads.

and dodge is triggered by fc. i used to play 2 fc bears simultaneously...
what jewelry are you using?
i had about 15k ar with 2x rfrosts and a metalgrid. when i swapped out one of the rings and the ammy for the angelic's combo, my ar skyrocketed to above 25k

you could try that...

I got a friend's CSzon to take off his shield and let me whack him for a few time. Lots of the FC didn't seem to have any effects, but I didn't catch a dodge animation either.

Gotta try this again some other time... Maybe I simply missed it. :hide:

i'm almost positive. i played both a 1h and a 2h fc bear just a little over a month ago and 2 years ago that's all i played before i quit. zons do dodge. i guarantee it server side, but perhaps your cpu isn't catching the animation. turn up the sound and listen to her go 'whoo' when she dodges.

I find that with 14,000 you're going to be missing a lot on some high defense opponents. If you aim to hit pallies, barbarians, and some others you should aim for angelic's combo to get closer to the 20,000 mark. This is why in some duels I go werewolf form for the higher AR.

agreed, glut. i wouldn't go with wolf since top speed is 5fpa...but angelics works wonders. and the life bonus is just pretty to look at

Ah. I still use wolf even with the 5fpa on pallies. I tend to win half the time unless they have exiles/dracs but.. if they have those two I'm most likely not going to win anyway even with bear (especially since I only have one weapon setup currently.)
