The simple answer is bramble, fortitude and enigma. Switch when you need to.

And if you ARE going to use all three, don't build in the stats off enigma, as then you're completely gimped if you take it off.

Pretty sure that was discussed in the guides as well u_u.

But yes, use all three.

the guides are from like 1989 so thats why i people ask all the time.

Yeah, but the thing is Stoute's guide is STILL pretty absolute. Which is why I point people to it >.>

Pardon for interrupting. Just a small question about something I didn't find the Stoute's build guide.

Which are the more important skills to pump first?

Rabies/Creeper/Fury/Lycan/Oak Sage

hey - sry to go l little off topic here

but i built one of these fury/rabies wolfs and i cnt seem to kill ne thing with a 7k rabies attack.

i kno thet you cnt actually KILL ne thing with psn dmg - but its not doing ANY dmg at all.

and why is there two dmg's listed (one is 200psn dmg or something and the other is 7k)

how do i get my dru to actually hurt stuff ?

Is that PvM? If so you're going to need at least 35k Rabies to kill anything.

And yes, Rabies does kill.

and ok - havnt quite gotten 30k yet - then again my gear situation is crap!

the reason you see two numbers there is because rabies doesnt just do poison damage, it applies the poison damage with a bite, and this bite does physical damage as well. if you are using a high damaging weapon and rabies a monster repeatedly, you can see the damage it does. however, fury is a much more practical method of doing physical damage. and sorry, but verashiden is right, 7k rabies damage just isnt going to kill anything period. you may need to take a look at your build and compare it to stoutewolfs hybrid guide, or if thats not the problem, youre either too low level or geared completely wrong. some items that will provide a huge boost to your rabies damage:
Trangs Gloves (20% poison damage increase, and cheap too)
Bramble (anywhere from 25(?)-50% poison damage increase)
Shapeshifting Grand Charms (these will provide a huge boost to your rabies damage)
but just as a suggestion if you really want to make a pvm shifter druid, youre going to need a strong back up attack to use against monsters, because rabies is going to take a long time to kill things pvm, if it even kills them at all, and otherwise youre just gonna be dodging monsters like crazy while despereately wishing your rabies would work faster. trust me, with 50k rabies damage, if i bite the group surrounding shenk in a private game, my rabies still takes something like 30-40 seconds to kill them, and thats not a lot of fun to wait around for. recommended back up skills include: feral rage, fury, or fireclaws. unfortunately, if youre not building with fireclaws in mind, dont start now because your build will be totally messed up.

yeh i think i can say that this build was if nothing else, a learning curve -

what is the best pvm shapeshifter ? fury wolf ?

PS ive made a new thread called pure fury wolf as not to hi jack this thread -

now dont just give upon rabies yet! actually, rabies can be an excellent support skill to prevent monster heal and do some damage while you (insert melee attack of choice) the monsters to death. however, sad but true, pure rabies wolfs will never be pvm kings... though it would be a cool accomplishment to say you killed baal with just rabies... hmm. dont worry though, it took a couple of remakes to get the wolf the way i wanted, its a very fine art really. good luck.
