[USEast HC L] Group from Act1Normal to Act5Hell!

Hello all. For those who weren't around back in 1.09, these were VERY popular around here. I'm looking to do one again, just to get a change of pace and a challenge. For a refresh, here is what happens.

1) We get 7 people total, one to play each character.

2) We all meet up at a certain time and day, and play. We could play if there is a minimum of 5 people, but we must not get too far ahead of the group.

3) No one transfers items to that character. You play untwinked, how the game was meant to be played.

4) Items go to the person who needs it most. (IE- a meelee character will obviously have first choice at meelee weapons) If we find an item that most if not all characters can use, then we will talk about it and decides who needs it the most.

5) If you die in the game, you are out of the group. You can not remake a character and catch up with us. The only exception to this would be if we are still in Act1 or Act2 in the normal difficulty.

6) We will place a limit of two 'cookie cutter' builds in the group. We don't want a hammerdin, summoner necro, meteorb sorc, trapsin, etc all running around. Takes the fun out.

7) We work together, and have fun.


So, who is up for this? I'm going to play as the Paladin, and be a zealot. My friend will be playing as the Amazon, and he will be a bowazon

I also have to split my time between escl and wscl so it will be interesting.

As of right now, I am looking at making this a once a week thing. Most likely Saturdays, starting late at night (11:30-12ish). It usually is the time most of everyone is free, so it should work out. We most likely won't do twice a week, unless during that week we all plan to meet up one time

As of right now, I am definately looking for the weekend to play. Either a friday, saturday, or sunday. The thing with Sunday or a weekday is if people have 9-5 jobs, they have to go to sleep early and won't be able to play. I would like a friday or saturday game, so if you could do either of those please sign up

Well as of right now definate the paladin and amazon are taken. It looks like we have a druid and assasin on the fence right now. So DEFINATELY open are barb,sorc, and necro.

Since this is getting more popular, I would like everyone who IS playing in it to say what times are best for them. If you are thinking of playing it, say what times are best for you. I'll choose based on what time the group will be playing.


I would personally like to play either Friday or Saturday night, starting at around 11:30 EST time PM. I'm not sure if I would be able to have any other 'set' time to play. My friend is also good for those times.

Tho if I get a wireless router for my bday..June 14th..I may be able to do 11:30pm.

EDIT: ingame name assassin - mrconrad. Am I going to need to catch up at all? And also, this might make me seem like a noob, but I haven't played for a while. What does the HC L mean after the U.S. East part? I know that US East is the server.

Conrad- We didn't start yet. We will be starting June 16th as our first day. If you have leveled your character any, sorry, but you'll have to delete it. Also, if you don't have a character on the USEast server that has beaten normal difficulty, you must get one to play Hardcore. If you don't have one, I'll gladly rush you quickly through normal in order to play.

EDIT: I just have to beat it on Normal? I could probably do that tonight in one sitting. Does it have to be on Ladder as well? I know that it's going to be on expansion.

With it being only a couple of hours away, lets talk a little bit of early strategy.

Whats everyone going to go for?


I was planning on doing zealot, but decided to do a freezelot. Our sorceress can focus on light damage then, or fire, or both, rather then needed cold tree. My friend (the bowazon) will be planning a strafezon, which will be nice.

@dudeimoncoke- By the looks of it, we will be missing a sorc, druid, and assassin. (have no responded, looks like they havent been on these forums in a while) Aprudds doesn't look like he is around, and SirMess will play. Since he will be next in line, he would get the choice of his character between those three. If you would like to play, just show up in the channel diihcgroup at 11:15 EST time, I'm sure they'll be a spot for you to play!

Yah sry i had a bbq that lasted longer than expected.

Results on the first night: We started with a group of : Paladin, Amazon, Druid, Barb, Assassin, Sorc, Sorc (we are allowing an 8th to play) A little while into it, the Druid left because 'he didn't like the way it was being played (sharing drops, waiting for everyone, etc) The rest of the group finished the imbue quest, and we are around lvl 16. We will kill Andy and move on to act 2 next week.

The best item I found is a rare scepter with 2 to might, and 2 open sockets. Put 2 chipped emeralds into it, having some decent damage.

Murder- If you would like to join, you MUST get your character caught up this week. I, and anyone else who is in the group, will help you walk through, get all the quests, etc. Same thing for your friend. Since we already have a barb and 2 sorces, we need the necromancer and druid. If you could convince your friend to be a Druid, that would rock.

Best things I fund was a 2socketed Katar (topaz and diamond), a 2 slot Chain Mail (i don't think I put anything into it), and a charm that does poison damage.
