was just curious how viable a bone/poison hybrid is in pvp? i know its in the sticky, but i would like to hear some feedback from people who tried it out. thanks

I personally enjoy a pure bonemancer over a poisonmancer or PB hybrid. The hybrid can work (i've only tried it once) but I found that a pure bone worked a little better. Besides, if you look at the skill point distributions, a poisonmancer really can become a PB hybrid depending where you stick the extra points. I think that a bonemancer is just a little more nimble, and if you can get someone in spearlock it's just devastating.

bone/poison is a very hard PVP combo because it is heavily gear locked.

You're going to have to sacrifice a lot in the way of +skills and other gear, especially FCR gear in order to have a poison attack that has enhanced equipment damage and reduces enemy resistances. Otherwise, you're going to do very little damage as most PVP duels are between characters that have maxed resistances.

At the same time, however, a pure bone mancer has an attack that nobody has high resistances to, the options to have a lot more fcr gear and plus skills, and stronger bone attacks in general since the skill points aren't shared with the poison skills.

I have a poisonmancer with a small bone element.

Basically, I have one point in all the golums, 1 point in lower resist (and prereqs), maxed out poison synergies, one point in bone spirit, and maxed out Bone Prison.

Maxing out Bone Prison does three things I like. First, it increases Bone Armor to a decent amount; second, it increases Bone Spirit to the 1000 damage marker (assuming over +20 PnB skills); third, it makes Bone Prison an awesome crowd control/barrier.

Yes, I could have put 20 into skeleton mastery and then gotten some revives... and in hindsight, I probably would have done that, but I miss-clicked Bone Spirit/Prison, and so decided to ride with it and see how it turned out... and I have to say, I'm not as displeased as I thought I'd be :wink3:
