kicking around a EB Games/GameStop during lunch.

they had two, new in the box Xpac sets... $10.00 each...

I snagged them both, figured may as well put it on the laptop too...

I hope the higher resolution makes the game more fun to play, and I'm sort of amused at whether or not I'll actually G-Rush, cow level characters on a new account so see what the whole xpac scene is about...

classic isn't exactly difficult, but it is a bit time consuming (in a variety of fashions)

with summer/outdoor activities I don't imagine it'll suck me into/glued to the PC any more (or less) than before, but I couldn't pass it up for $10.00 each :laugh:

heck, they still want $39.99 for the "battle chest" at most places *roll eyes*

I haven't installed it yet :p and honestly, I'm not quite ready to be a complete/uber noob, and the time it will involve in not being one so I honestly don't expect to be playing xpac, or checking the build guides over there to figure out what a successful build is.

Any build can be succesful if you can teleport have a merc with 4aura's or more.
Have fun. I doubt you will like the powerplay. (dex + shield + mods = blocking chance in xpac btw)

baby steps. the higher resolution will be the biggest benefit for now.

who knows though, as I said, I may g-rush myself, then chant/level myself deep into the 4x-5x range before applying any skills/stats, then covert that char over to xpac to see what it's all about.

I imagine, if I offer such rushes up as a service, that I can get a couple of nice items to hook my noob xpac butt up - but again, that's putting the cart WAY before the horse.

It is, especially as it works in Classic. I got bored in LOD in few months, but didn't switch classic to low res until I lost my LOD CD (where did I put it?).

i play xpac almost exclusively...started an mf sorce on classic because i got bored (especially the trade and wealth system sux) and been doing that for the last..week? Anyways youll really like xpac at first but it will start to get boreing fast once the high runes start rolling in and you can buy all the godly (most likely duped) items you want.

I agree that expansion is easy if you use the godly high-end runewords, which are made of hacked runes. However, if you decide to refrain from using those hacked items, then its actually quite fun and can be challenging! With legit expansion items many of the "nearly impossible" classic build become viable, without being overpowered. Thats the fun thing about expansions, so many cool builds are actually viable. Hope you enjoy it! And playing expansion definitely doesnt mean you will stop playing classic. I play em both for example.

Dont forget to try the new classes too , they are super fun. I know this wouldnt work for converting them classic over, but totaly worthwile anyhow :)
