Untwinked wind druid in hc

Couple questions:

1) is max block recommended? If it were twinked I would definitely max block, but well, this isn't :P
2) What's the best merc? Holy freeze could be the safest, but with hurricane I'm not sure how useful it would be. Since hurricane will always be on, I was thinking maybe might would be best, but welcome any suggestions.
3) Is carrion vine thing worth investing two points (that + prereq) into?
4) Any suggestions as to in which order I should max skills?

I'm not on HC, but I think my anwers apply to HC too.

1) If you're untwinked and pvm I'd go for vita and no block. You'll need lots of dex to get max block and you'll waste moee points too.
2) Holy Freeze isn't necessary because, like you said, you got hurricane active. Might won't boost your damage. I got a defiance merc on mine.
3) If you're maxing oak/hurri/cyclone/twister/tornado you're already at 89. I got the better wolf too. Finished at lvl91. You could go for grizly after that and then carrion vine. I never used it.
4) Nado will be your main skill and cyclone your main defense. when you're lvling try to max tornado first then casually build up cyclone, hurricane and oak sage.

For mercs I'd get a Prayer merc and find the runes for Insight on him. Both auras stack and give insane life regen.

Prayer + Insight merc as Vera said. Find tal and eth to make a stealth armor, it'll last you pretty well the entire game. Spirit runes aren't too hard to find, you should have them by the time you find a 4os sword.
