for a lightning jav zon wouldnt Thunderstroke be better then titans?

With the -15% resists and the +4 to all lightning synergies AND the +3 to lightning bolt which is another synergy, wouldn't the thunderstroke be a LOT more damage?

Also, couldn't I "upgrade" the thunderstroke just like I could upgrade a titans?

Well it's not a garaunteed +4 from Thunderstrokes and you have to bear that in mind, whereas Titans definately do give you a +4 to java skills (+2 to all ama skills, +2 java skills).
Titans are so popular for several reasons:
-Replenish quantity
-+to Str and Dex
-Life Leech
-Even the R/W is useful
And Thunderstrokes provides none of these benefits.

There are some situations where Thunderstrokes are preferable and Titans are by no means necessary, but the above reasons make them the most sought after.

As Thunderstrokes are Matriarchal Javelins I don't think you can up them (Titans are Ceremonial and can be upped). Someone may be able to give you a definate answer on that one though.

It's quiet good for a CS zon, but you can't upgrade it since it's already an Elite type of item.
+3 to lightning bolt = Synenergy but That doesn't work if you have it on weapons, only hardpoints will works as synenergies.
It will do about the same damage as Titans, listed. But -15% will make some more damage. And thunder has 15 IAS.

Plus the extra stuff from titans is hard to replace, say you've built your zon around max block with titans, you lose 20 dex for that. Not to mention losing 20 strength which could mess things up in other areas, and the fast run/walk from titans is missed, trust me :undecided:

nevertheless tstrokes are good for pvp and boss killing

Titans = LF, for the replenish
Thunderstrokes = CS

If you have both, carry them both for different things. CS Baal and other large bosses and critters with Thunderstrokes. LF the mobs with Titans.

But for almost every other Javazon build. . .especially the Poizon where +skills are king and you throw a TON of Javs. . .then the Titans are more desireable. Upping is not required unless you are going for a max tweak build. For normal play. . .non-upped is just fine.

About upping. Whats the point? I imagine it only ups the physical damage it does. But as a lightning amazon your not doing physical damage.

So if I have +18 in lightning bolt, that +3 wont make it +21 skill points? Giving me another +30% in synergies for CS?

If thats the case then what about the Thundergod's Vigor? Would the synergies also not apply to my cs damage?

No.

Only HARD points that YOU put in the skills will add to synergies. Skills from items such as the +3 LF from Thundergod's and the +3 LB from Thunderstroke will not synergize.

In the end, it comes down to style of play: if you throw more, go with Titan's, and if you like to run up and hit stuff, use TStrokes. And if you're willing to forfeit the CTA, use both. ;)
