Heya all

2 questions.

1: I have seen a lot of threads that recommend using a 1 pt guided arrow as a boss killer instead of strafe. Why?
The only reason I can think of is that once you account for nextdelay, and the chance of missing, that the guided will actually hit more often then the 7 arrows of the maxxed strafe? Is that it, or is there another reason.

2: Gear question. Playing a semi-budget zon.
wws
Stealskull
treachery
Highlords
Lavagouts (Switch to LOH for bosses and High Daemon areas)
Razortail
Ravenfrost and some other misc ring
Some boots. (probably gores eventually)

With the 10 from skull, 20 from Highlords, 45 from treachery, 20 from gloves, I am already at 95 IAS. While conventional wisdom says to dual shael the WWS, the one thing I feel I am missing is crowd control. So instead of dual shael the wws, I am thinking of Shael Nef, for the knockback. (or Sur for Blinding)

at 115 IAS, am I missing a breakpoint by doing this, or will I still be good.

Thanks

IIRC at 115 IAS you hit the 8 frame breakpoint (minimum IAS for this breakpoint is 105 I think).
To hit 7 frame you need 200 IAS.

I'm pretty sure that's it as WWS has a base weapon speed of 0, but correct me if I'm wrong!

Well they advice to use GA on bosses because if you dont have the end game items you find it very hard to hit bosses with strafe but in the end strafe is faster when you get some +ar bonus.. with strafe you are like a machine gun, chance on hit mods etc come handy.. just like your WWS, i used it too

Guided Arrow is next to useless in PvM situations now. Well, I shouldn't say next to useless. It's a great scouting tool, but since the pierce bug was fixed, it just isn't the same. I would recommend, for a first ladder zon, if you find you can't hit things with Strafe, to max Magic Arrow and go with that instead. Perhaps you will luck out and come across a bow that has ITD on it!

Guided arrows do not suffer the same AR problems strafe arrows do...they hit so for bosses they work. "Later" as your AR improves you will be able to hit hell Baal upper 80's% with strafe with AR around 25K.

I agree with your observation about wanting crowd control and knockback. You will not be killing hell act 4/5 fast enough. If you have not crafted IAS/Knockback gloves then use the nef/shael combination. You will always want to have knockback on some piece of gear regardless of your level.
